The mellow yellow rays peep through your curtains. You were hoping that you could share the bed with Shadow last night but after returning back to headquarters he announced that he needed time alone. The rest of the day's plans were cancelled. His location became unknown after that.

When you arrived at ground level you were greeted by Rouge, she wasn't expected so early. "Hello sunshine. You should know it's rude to keep a gal waiting," she said causally reclining on one of the sofas in the main lobby. "Many pardons, I wasn't expecting you so soon." "Cut the formalities I'm trying to be friendly!" You were taken aback, what was wrong? "I didn't mean to offend you. I address all my comrades in this tone." She began to rub her temples saying more to herself, "No kidding, when the Doc wanted someone to be at his beckon call he sure knows how to make them." Then she called to you, "Let's get out of here. I've have enough of this place as it is." Before you could leave the intercom crackled to life, "(y/n)! Meet me in my office now!" You smiled playfully at Rouge, "Looks like you're going to have to wait a little longer." Upon arriving to his office you can detect large amounts of paper being shuffled. "Doctor, you called?" He had mountains of paperwork on his desk, mostly sketched up drawings on what could be his next project. "Where do you think you're going? You still have scheduled training!" "Out with Rouge if that's alright. I've failed to inform you earlier." He leaned against his chair, his expression holding traces of concentration. "You may go under one condition. Behave yourself." "That's doable." "Then you can on your way." You waved good bye before exiting the office.

It was effortless keeping up with Rouge. "Rouge where are we headed?" "The city, you're going to love it. There's a quaint café that serves the absolute best deserts in the city." It was a refreshing puff of air to be outside. You were concerned about Shadow's whereabouts but he did say he wanted to be alone. Your heart felt heavy. You wanted to be there for him but if he choose to distance himself from you then... you're his problem. It best not to dwell on it so much, he'll come back when he's ready.

The cities were always glamourous in films but they did it no justice when it came to depicting how indescribably large a city can be. Isolated from outside contact who could've guessed just the inexhaustible amount of humans that actually populated Earth. A fine dressed older man here and a group of youths there, the streets were flooded with people. Each face different from the last. The skyscrapers towering over everyone like giants. Automobiles ran endlessly along the streets in an orderly fashion, much like ants. You noticed along the way you were receiving some odd looks.

"Wait here," ordered Rouge as she pointed to a table for two up in front of the café. A large pink beach umbrella blocked out the sun. She returned with two colorful menus, "Topaz will pick up the bill so try anything you like." As you inspected the menu, you mused "Who's Topaz?" She answered absentmindedly "She works with the military. Have you decided?" "It's kind of her to cover the expense. I'll just have what you're having." She took the menus and returned with two of most delicious looking pastries you have ever set your eyes on. Anticipation bubbled to the surface, "Thank you Rouge, they look absolutely mouthwatering." Your eyes were fixed on the pastry in front of you. Aside from that you picked up a warm sweet aroma, Rouge returned with teacups. "It's nothing, anything for a gal with a rack as good as mine." You stared at her, you can feel a suppressed smile twitching on your lips. You can't believe she made something hilarious out of something so lewd. You burst out laughing, "HAhahaha! Did you seriously just say that? Haha that'll be the first." Your cheeks pick up a pink hue. She gives you a coy smile, "I think we'll get along just fine." "Hmm you think so?" You picked up the tea cup, it was a subtly sweet aromatic berry tea. The warm liquid reminded you of Shadow. He might like it. You notice Rouge isn't eating. She's staring off into café, a glare forming. You stare into the café. There was no one except for the cashier wiping down the countertop. You noticed too late she wasn't looking into the café, she was glaring at the reflection. *Click* A flash of bright light came from your left followed by serval other clicks. You saw from the reflection people have gathered... with cameras. Well since they are here and you're the obvious center of attention, it's your turn to be the star. You saw it once in a movie, the actress noticed cameras and turned around with a splendid smile. You turned as she did flipping you long locks over your shoulder and giving them your "Thousand Gigawatt" smile. The cameras went berserk. There was endless stream of light and clicking sounds pouring from their cameras. It seemed as if more people gathered by the second. Questions began flying through the air, "Miss Miss! Are you new in town? Tell the good people whether more furry friends are coming our way!" "Miss Miss can I please get a name!" Miss this and Miss that, these reporters wanted to know everything about you and were going to eat you alive if you didn't get out of there soon. You feel a tug and then your air borne. "Good thing you missed out on the cake honey or this would have been impossible."
