"(Y/N) Focus!" The Doctor reminded you there were aerial enemies included in this disfigured army. He was becoming creative with his droids. He would piece together the old parts with new ones giving life to the oddest of creations. For instance one had wheels for hands another had crab pincers mounted on the Sonic droid's body (nothing less than disturbing) and another had a squid's body with two mismatched heads. That one didn't really serve much purpose. Indecisive prick, one wants to burn me to the ground while the other wants the honor of squeezing out my intestines. You sigh somberly. Well you get the idea. Focus. That warm shiver that became all too familiar courses through your body, a ring of light expands suddenly exploding into shots of "lighting" defusing the surrounding enemy. You open your eyes to the pile of debris, a grin materializing on your lips. The Doctor begins to laugh uncontrollably, "There's no way Sonic can stand a chance! He's a goner! He's finished!" "It isn't for certain," interrupted Shadow. You briefly glanced at him in astonishment. He's right but he did shatter the Doctor's short lived charisma. "Shadow makes a fine point. The opponent has the ability to adapt let alone that he has faithful companions alongside him. It would be wise if the celebration be put off till the deed is done," you add solemnly. "Hoho I'm surprised in your lack of support Shadow," the Doctor ignoring your remark. Shadow gashes his teeth as he exits the practice room. What's wrong with him? Since the night of what the Doctor likes to call your "forthcoming" Shadow seemed to distance himself. You've asked what's wrong but he just kisses your forehead replying with "Nothing," before going the adverse direction. His affection was off, the kisses lost their warmth. It's been about three weeks since he started to behave differently to put it mildly. As much as you wanted to corner him and demand answers the Doctor was in charge of the now extensive and rigorous training. Days and nights began to blend together. Wake up, breakfast, go to train, lunch, train, dinner, and even More training. At least the Doctor remembers that I have a stomach. You thought bitterly, it wasn't so much that training was the object of your discontent but you missed the liberty that you once had. Shadow would "watch" every practice but he seemed so engrossed in an idea it was a blank glaze. It did appear at times that he would actually be watching but that emotionless mask of his made it all that much more difficult to get an accurate read on him.
The Doctor's voice reels you back into the present, "... more we can do. I admit this room begins to grow mundane." Shoot what did he say? "Yes these white walls are tiring to the eyes," you answer still ignorant of the subject. "If you are in need of me I'll be in the office." "We're finished?" "Permanently." "Permanently?" you asked skeptically. The Doctor sighs, "Child you were not listening were you? To sum what I said it is apparent that continuing this training will not assist you anymore. I've done all I could and I leave faith in your hands that you will prevail. There's simply nothing more we can do." The Doctor departs leaving you alone in the practice room. A smile splits your face into two as you jump around like an idiot silently cheering. You pick up one of the squids, "Thanks for the memories!" you exclaimed throwing it against the metal plated wall. Your excited yelps echoed off the wall, throwing your hands in the air. You take one last satisfying look at the debris and head out the doors for the last time, you hoped. You looked out the window, it was still before midday. You hear a ping coming from the elevator and run towards it to find to your dismay Decoe and Bocoe. "Have you two seen Shadow?" "Well he did embark the elevator to go towards the roof," Bocoe had a finger on his chin, a pensive look on his face. "Princess I advise against it. How about we watch a movie instead? We haven't seen one of those in a while!" Decoe was noticeably excited. "Usually I would say yes but I really need to find him." Decoe deflated but perked up right away, "There's always next time." "I'll see you two around."
His back is turned looking off into the horizon. His arms are crossed over his chest appearing very much like a king overlooking the land. Taking in a deep breath you call out, "Shadow!" His frame tenses but his arms fall to his sides. He gives you a glance and turns to look at you fully. He slowly approaches you enveloping you into his arms. "Shadow," you mew barely audible. He clutches you closer. His muscles finally relaxing, "I've missed you." It's the most he's ever said to you these past weeks. Hot tears begin to well, your face heating up. "(y/n)?" He murmurs. He softly raises your chin, "I did this." He closes his eyes pressing his forehead against yours and nuzzles your nose, "You must have been so confused..." He tentively pecks you anticipating rejection he never receives.
