Hope you're enjoying the fanfic so far. I encourage you to comment if there are any confusions or concerns! I use terms in here that not everyone knows like the "layout" which is a gymnastic move. No I don't do gymnastics, there was research involved. FYI: Tails full name is Miles "Tails" Prowler, lets avoid confusion together! Anyways I don't think this needs to be restated but here we go. Please do not sue me, none of these characters are mine and belong to whoever the creators may be.
Damn, you were kneeling again. Sparring with Shadow was always taxing but fulfilling in a away. You knew every hit was a step closer to completing your purpose. With Shadow each advance was electrifying. When he demonstrated a few maneuvers before a brawl it made something in your stomach clench. Those lovely sculpted muscles stretching and flexing with each movement. The worst part was his voice. Comparably it was like being wrapped up in silk at midnight on a hot summer day. It was unyielding, nippy where it touched but the rest of your bodice was heated, aching for that same refreshment. How odd these emotions were? It was some type of deep yearning and it was always for Shadow. Focus. He was nearly done with the exercise. You're glad the Doctor gave you an exceptional thought process. It facilitated keeping up with Shadow's lessons.
You two were at it blow for blow. Of course Shadow isn't trying his hardest but your glad you can at least keep him on his toes. The Doctor, being the kind man that he is, tailored a uniform he called "training apparel." You used the term loosely because it looks no different than regular clothing except for the suave material. It was a loose V-neck sweatshirt. Entirely chalkboard grey except for the crimson red ends of the sleeves, sweatshirt, and the large diamond shape on your shoulders. Your sweatshirt was paired with matching shorts, entirely grey except the large red bands going down the sides. The training room was silent except for the heavy breathing and small grunts here and there. At the moment you were trying to overpower Shadow, to at LEAST strike him somewhere vital that would stun him long enough to call it a win. The white fur on his chest made it the easiest target to focus on although his face was also an option... You didn't want to hurt him. It wouldn't be fair, he avoided striking you harshly the least you could do during trainings is play fair. You moved to the left, his fist grazed your right shoulder. His left flank was open, this was your chance! Shadow was quick. He saw through your intentions and spun around briskly. He caught your fist and held it behind your back, holding your pressure point tightly. "Gah!" You winced at the pain travel through your shoulder blade. He sighed "You need to be more aggressive even with me." He let go. "You have potential I'll give you that." He said while examining your shoulder. "It won't bruise." A touch of rose specked your cheeks. He was encouraging and you didn't mind getting hurt. He would always look you over at some point during the match and that process wasn't too bad in itself. He held your hand extending it checking for any muscle pains. He held your leg at the thigh looking for any impairment of reflexes. It almost seemed as if he was affectionate during the process but he was definitely cautious.
"Why do you stay?" He asked when he was done. "What do you mean?" You were still a bit light headed from having him at close proximity. "Why do you stay with the Doctor?" "What do you mean by that? I care for the Doctor and I care for the androids." You said smiling at him. He stared at the wall on the other end deep in thought. "I care about you Shadow~" He looked at you from the corner of his eye, disbelief briefly flashing in his eyes. You walk around to stand in front of him and gently grab his hand. "There's many reasons why I stay. You're a big reason why." "... Semper fi" He barely whispers. "What?" "It means forever loyal or faithful in Latin." "That's l..." The intercom crackles to life and the Doctor's voice begins to fill the arena. "I expected to see training you two! Shadow do what you were told or you won't hear the end of it!" You salute the large glass plane overhanging the arena. The Doctor enjoys coming in from time to time to overlook your progress. "He usually doesn't mind us taking a minute. Good thing that mic is only one way right?" You said turning to smile at Shadow but he was pensive. Perplexity crossed his features. He squared his squared his shoulders stiffly returning to his spot in the combat arena. "Return to your position," he commanded.
