Clarification: POV means Point Of View (I'm aware this is quite late). In this follow chapter there will be a few changes of said POV. You will be notified by these brackets < > Enjoy!

You stood in the center of a glass cylinder bewildered. It was inches thick, metal trimmings lining its exterior. "What do you think you're doing Miles?" His voice was projected over the intercom, "If you're gonna hurt Sonic then I'm gonna stop you." There was a strange tumultuous feeling in your chest it was almost cynical. It started out a whisper and then escalated to feral merriment. You voice resounded, echoing off the glass, "haha... hahaha AHAAHAHAHA!" You can see Tails was instantly bitter about your reaction. "Oh I apologize Tails dear hahaha. You got me. Haha no seriously this is hilarious. I never took you for a joker." "What's so funny about it?" "Well for a hero you had to snoop down real low to think of something like this." You gestured to the cylinder, "If the Doctor was here I'm sure he would applaud your efforts. Actually, allow me *clap clap*" You felt indignant about your position, about letting yourself get cooped up. You never felt so furious with yourself and you were letting Tails be the receiving end. Thinking back on it now it probably wasn't the wisest course of action.

"I didn't want to do this but you left me no other choice." "Hmm really? Was it really an intuitive choice to place someone with phenomenal power beneath your loved ones? I bet I can blow the roof off this place sky high," you smirked wolfishly. "That's where you're wrong," he uttered before slamming down on a lever on the dash board. A whirling fan like sound clambered above. It was then that you noticed the gold plating above and underneath your feet. Blue lightning was sputtering from the fan. It came down abruptly sparking up the inside of the enclosure. It gave you almost no time to react. The air around you was being burnt. You could almost feel your own blood sizzling in your veins. You attempted to use the chaos shield but it quickly collapsed. Why isn't it working?! Your very life force was being drained out of you. You grunted against the pain. You stopped feeling your legs.  Your heart erratically pumped blood to keep you awake, your heartbeat painfully drumming in your ears. You couldn't take much more of this. You were beginning to lose consciousness. Just as it started, it ended abruptly. You collapsed breathing laboriously. After a moment you staggered to get up, every nerve in your body screamed against it. You didn't get very far and fell back to the ground. There was colors flickering in your vision, they started to dim. You found Tails appearing quite resolved but it was evident he didn't enjoy watching. "Just finish it," you muttered as the last circle of light vanished.

<Tails POV>

I'll do whatever I can to protect my friends, especially Sonic. I won't let her take anyone away from me. "That's where you're wrong," I was determined to save my friend. I turned the switch on the control board initiating the machine. I glanced at the mechanics above. Here we go. I pushed several smaller switches upwards simultaneously. The electric discharge made contact. I jumped back a little, I wasn't expecting such a fulmination. The room was bathed in a light blue tint. It felt good for a second then it all went awry. Through the haze her eyes were glistening crimson pools. The lightning highlighted the chaos raging inside them. The control board began to blare warning signs. How could the machine already be hitting its max intake!? The sound of muffled screams brought my eyes back on (y/n). She was holding herself together her fingers digging into her arm. Her composure contorted in pain. No no no! Something went wrong. My hand hovered over the lever. I can't shut it down without the power surge under control. It'll fry the main frame then who knows what will happen. "Hang on (y/n)!" I miscalculated, I didn't know someone could store so much chaos in their body. I'll have to reroute it soon or risk blowing a fuse! Frantically I began opening the currents passage, enabling it throughout the house and pushing it towards the city's outlets. The caution warning stopped blaring and it was enough time to hit the lever. I hear a dull thud. As I turn to look at (y/n) the glow in her eyes dimmed and she murmured, "Just finish it."
