December 1 1940
Desume gripped her books as she walked into the old diner. Her Marks tingled but she paid no mind.

She had important things to do. Of course it was 1940 so she had to be discreet about her learning.

Looking down at the womens magazine she rolled her eyes at the few men scattered around.

Many were off to war. Whoever we're fit enough to go out to war would be leaving soon.

If they weren't well she would be the one to see that. She was a nurse in the city and sometimes even did the checkups.

"What can I get cha?" She jumped at the sudden voice snapping her 'magazine' shut.Looking up at the flamboyant waitress she smiled.

"Just a chocolate shake and some fries."  Her voice was a little worn but kept its gentle sound as she glanced back down at her 'magazine.'

"Of course hunny!" The waitress says enthusiastically before seemingly skipping away.

Desume then sighed before opening her magazine and going back to the place she was at.

Though just as she turned a page she felt an intense burning. Despite her own feminist views she couldn't help but glance around.

That's when her vision caught two men walk in. One seemed to be a sergeant in the army while the other was scrawny.

But she couldn't help but crack a small smile at the seemingly shy man. Looking back down at her book on the worlds mechanisms she couldn't help but drift off.

"Hey whatcha reading there white face." She grimaced at the name. Looking over to the tall man she glared

"A magazine or has your own stupidity blinded you?" She questioned closing it.The man raised his hand.

"How dare you address me that way you little." She got up and knocked him clean out.

She was never fond of racist white men. But they always pop up every now and then.  She no longer was in a reading mood as she sat and leaned against the window next to her.

Oh how boring it was to be a women. She couldn't enlist in the army couldn't even have regular rights.

The only reason she could sit where she was right then is because she was half French giving her passing features.

Hence the name white face."Here ya go sweet cheeks ill get this man handled." She says before turning around and walking off.

A big burly man came and dragged him straight out. Leaning against her hand she boredly took a fry and ate it.

Then her marks burned again. She let out a soft groan as she rubbed her thighs. Then she heard the leather seats across from her.

Glancing over she saw the two men."That was one strong right hook." She bit her lip in embarrassment.

"I- thank you sir." She said shyly tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. The man just chuckled.

"No need for that just call me Bucky." She felt her cheeks hue red.

"Bucky of course and you are?"Not even she could look over the meek blonde.
