i glanced over at mateo and mia, who were both wearing white, with hints of red.
their outfits matched each others.
the limo started its drive to the hall where i'd be having my birthday.
"so, you're turning 15?" jack questioned, slightly confused.
"no, i'm already 15. this is just my quince." i explained.
"and i'm dressed like this because?"
"because my family is getting together for my birthday, and then never again."
"oh. right."
my family was composed of people who were guardians for little things, so they'd all be able to see jack.
but he didn't know that yet.
the only reason i'd wanted to have a quince in the first place was so i could hopefully see my dad before his business trip was done.
there was a chance he wouldn't make it.
"happy birthday." jack smiled, putting a present in my arms.
"oh! thank you. i don't even wanna know how you got this." i grinned, looking down at the box. "i appreciate it."
