"Why do you want to destroy it?", she questions. "I thought you hated her. Then why do you care so much about the tapes?"

"I don't", I grin. "But we can use it against her."

"How?"

"To make her leave", I shrug. "But you have to promise to give it to me. Only then I will be yours completely."

"Stefan I don't want you to look at her", she hisses angrily. "Just tell her to leave."

"You see Cara my family loves her dearly", I say in a convincing tone. "And it won't look good for me if they know that I am the one who pushed her away. She needs to leave on her own."

"I don't think after what I did Esme still likes her", she says cynically.

"I know you were the one who put my mom's jewelery in her bag", I declare and try to keep the anger off my voice.

"I had to do something", she nods. "Esme was starting to like her too much. Even more than me and I didn't like that. She was taking all the attention for herself."

"But don't you think invading her privacy was a little too much?", I caress her arm.

"It was Ana's plan", she murmurs while trying to look innocent. "But I don't regret it. We can blackmail her to leave using it."

"We can do that", I smile. "Give it to me. I know how to use it against her."

"No", she hooks her arms around my neck. "I will do it myself."

Suddenly she tilts her head to the side. "Why do I feel like you will destroy it when I give it to you?"

"Do you want me to keep it then?"

"No", she snaps. "I hope you are not playing with me for her sake!"

"Stefan", she holds my collar tightly, her eyes red and full of madness. "If I get even a slight doubt that you are still on her side and protecting her, believe me when I say I won't think twice before ruining her reputation. I made copies of her tapes and send them to a friend. I just need to give him my word and the job will be done!"

This fucking bitch! She sent the videos to a fucking stranger! To a man!

"Why would you think that?", I ask angrily and shrug her hands off me. "I thought you knew me better than that!"

"Sorry baby", she coos, her whole demeanor changes, causing me to gag internally. "Don't get angry with me please. I shouldn't have said that. I don't want to hurt you"

"Then give me the damn tapes", I demand. "And we can be happy forever and make sure you will tell me everything about Ana's revenge. If she waltz her way back in my life then we are done here Cara."

"No!", she starts shaking her head and takes my hand into his. "She won't. I promise to tell you everything."

She starts telling me everything about her plans and her vile intention of helping Jake escaping the prison. I keep my face blank the whole time but inside I am dying to kill them.

Present time....

The whole time I had to pretend to ignore Jess just so Cara would believed me and she did. I couldn't make her doubt me. I didn't want to tell Jess anything because I wanted to protect her. I know she'd freaked out when she would find about the videos and about Jake. She would constantly walked on eggshells and she still has not recover completely from her trauma. I didn't want to worry her further but in my attempt to protect her, I ended up hurting her more. I hurt her so badly that I no longer feel like myself anymore.
