Boring. Dull. Uninteresting. All throughout November, well except Thanksgiving.

It was cold out, but that didn't stop your group from skateboarding. Akemi and you were both getting to hang of balance and speeding on your board.

"Just bend your knees a bit more," Killua said to you as you had both feet on the board.

"Why are we doing this again?" You asked, you couldn't help but hold onto his shirt for support.

"So you'll be able to speed up without really needing to push off so much. You can either push very hard and bend your knees to for fast or just keep pushing until you gain speed." He explained and allowed you to hold onto his hands.

"Ok..just don't let go of me when I bend my knees." You stated.

Killua nodded and you tightened your grip. You bent your knees a bit down and struggled not to shake, you shifted your foot trying to find more balance support and eneded up slipping forward.

"Whoa- sorry!" You apologized for accidentally stepping on his shoes.

"Ah no it's ok! It just takes practice then soon you'll be able to do it without my help!" He replied and lifted you up steady.

"But I like your help." You said as you got back on the board.

Killua was flushed with red across his face, "I-I mean I'll still be watching you, bit I just won't be exactly helping you!" He said while turning his head and covering half his face with his arm.

"Hey you let go-!" You cried out as you had your knees bent and lost balance, the ground had hardened your fall.

You fell forward and pressed your hands to the cement, "Are you ok?" Killua asked you and held out his hand.

You took it and groaned in pain, "yeah...I think we should take a break though."

Killua and I sat on a bench to watch Gon and Akemi skate, Gon couldn't help but stand there holding his board and watched Akemi take off and zoom down the empty parking lot, the parking lot was up on a hill and was perfect for skating quickly, at least that's what Killua had said.

Akemi slowed down and got off her skateboard, "Phew, I'm getting a little tired now..," She said in an exhausting tone of voice.

Akemi sat down on the curb and pulled out her phone, it looked like she was recording Gon.

"Alright Gon get on the board!" Akemi said with a smile.

Gon didn't say anything.

"Get on the board!" Killua shouted.

"But-!"

"POSER!" Killua shouted louder.

"Ok ok!" Gon cried out and hugged his skateboard.

I watched as Gon carefully placed his skateboard down and kept adjusting his foot, soon he pushed off and slowly moved forward.

Killua chuckled at his friend who had a helmet, elbow, knee pads on and still moved at turtle speed.

Gon scoffed and looked at Akemi who was almost down on all fours with her phone in her hand while trying to not let out any kind of laughter., "Oh my gosh- Gon can't you... can't you skate any faster!?" Akemi wheezed out.

"No. But I can try!" He replied confidently.

I could only watch Gon humiliate himself...well it didn't seem like a complete humiliation since he didn't stop smiling.

First he gave us two thumbs up and adjusted his footing, then pushed off slowly and didn't stop trying to increase his speed. Finally once he was at a good enough speed he slowly put his foot on the board, only he put it too close to his other foot.

Gon flew off his skateboard and went downhill, literally.

"Oh crap!" Killua said and jumped up.

Killua ran after Gon along with Akemi, I quickly ran with them, "Cover your face! And try rolling horizontally!" Killua shouted out with his hands cupped.

"Everything- is- SPINNING-!" Gon spat out.

The three of us were started heavily breathing, Gon tried stopping himself by slowly shifting his body vertically.

It worked, but he rolled like a ball for a bit.

"Ow..." Gon said as we reached him.

"You ok?" Killua said and kneeled down.

{Akemi's P.O.V.}

I had caught it all on video. From Gon getting on his board to him rolling downhill.

"Are you hurt anywhere?" I asked and looked at him and lifted his arm to check.

By now I had put my phone away and helped Gon up. He had some scratches on his knees and I was worried if he might form bruises later.

"I'm fine, really. I was going so fast until I slipped!" He smiled and laughed.

It was getting late, the sun was going down. We all decided to just go home and not risk staying in the cold. Going our separate ways I noticed that I usually walk to Y/n's house with her, then walk home alone.

This time it was different, Y/n walked home alone while Gon and Killua walked home together. I just stood there confused.

'I shouldn't feel bothered about this..'

I've always enjoyed walking home with my best friend, even though we didn't exactly walk to my home, we'd walk to hers. I would usually stay for a bit before actually going home.

Y/n stopped walking and looked behind her, "Akemi, let's go already!" She said smiling.

"Ok!" I said and ran up next to her with my board.

'What the hell was I even thinking?' I shrugged a smile of relief.

We walked to her house to drop off her skateboard, "Hey, Y/n...do you mind if I could leave mine here too?" I asked.

"Yeah sure, you can leave it in the guest room; it's basically your second room." She replied with a grin and took my skateboard.

Marcie was in the kitchen making what looked like to be soup and Hiroto was playing video games in the living room.

Winter break would start in about two weeks. And after December 26th Gon would be gone. I didn't know if Y/n remembered that Killua and Gon would be leaving on that day, or maybe she had forgotten that they'd be leaving at all.

I sat at the kitchen table with my arms crossed on the table.

'I'm tired...'

Times almost up. About three more weeks until Killua leaves this rich town, I never thought such rich people my age would live ugly lives.

"They wear worn out clothes, limited allowance, no personal transportation, and they're obnoxious. Have they been taught nothing?" I pondered on in my room.

It was late at night indeed, and the stars were very bright. I couldn't figure this place out. I thought all wealth children had good lives, pockets that were never empty, people that obeyed their authority, and friends that never disagreed with them.

"Strang...how my assumptions were wrong. No, there must be something else wrong." I said to myself.

My phone chimed, I looked at my locked screen to see a picture of killua as my wallpaper. My heart skipped a beat and fluttered. I missed him. So much. I saw that I had received a message.

Of course it was Killua. I knew he'd come back eventually.
