Shalini pov:

The morning sunlight peeked through the curtains. I fluttered my eyes open and saw a cup of coffee placed on the table beside my bed, I slowly got up from my bed and picked up the coffee and went to the balcony and saw adhi sipping his coffee facing the city.

I stood next to him, and started to take a sip of my own coffee.

"Morning shalini" he said, a calm smile plastered on his face

"Morning" I mumbled in response.

A few minutes of silence prevailed in the air, breaking it adhi spoke up. He said thanks.

"edhuku thanks?" I questioned him back

(why thanks?)

"thank you for listening to all my past rants, making me comfortable." He said stepping close.

I reached for his hand and held it firmly and said " the way out from the labyrinth is to let go everything, it's not about forgetting it but making a choice to be strengthened by your past not strangled by it, so adhi" I took a step forward and squeezed his hand one time and continued" I am here for you" second squeeze " worse or for better, I will be there" third squeeze " I will sit you with you in your darkest time, if it makes you comfortable."

He hugged me, a kind of hug where you feel safe, a place to hide from this cruel world.

" the past is in your head and the future is in your hand, trust your process shalini." He said between the hug.

I looked at our intertwined hands, he didn't mean in this way. But the future is indeed in my hand. I couldn't believe it or see it for myself, I don't believed in destiny but now I am here slowly falling, I've sleeping so long in a 14 years dark night and now I see daylight. I once believed love was black and white but it's golden, like this daylight.

I can't promise to fix all your problems but I can promise you won't have to face alone. You're the best thing I never planned adhi. I thought.

"Enga pora shalini?" I asked her calmly

"Meghna birthday gift vaanga adhi" she said, hurriedly picking her heels from the closet. "are you coming, jewel shop dhan poren" she asked.

"Unavoidable meeting iruku ma, I can't come. How about night? We can go right?" I asked

"illa adhi actually, me and Arjun rooftop decorations plan pandrathuku night porom, I will go alone, no problem" she said, standing up from her bed and picking her sling bag.

I went near her and closed up our distance. I like teasing her , the way that quick blush crept on her cheeks. After knowing her for 2 months she still hasn't used to my touch or our close proximity. I tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, and continued " paathu poituva", she looked me straight in my face and said "athan nee varelenu solitela, pinna edhuku akara irukura mari nadikira". I dipped my head and looked back at her, she was angry as well as worried, quickly I held her face in my hands and said " meeting mudichitu seekram vara try panren, ok va?" she hummed as response. I kissed her forehead, bid her a good bye and went to attend the meeting.
