She had taken off her helm; and she was beautiful. Her hair was pale white, falling down to her waist. Her eyes were a bright gold color, unnatural to this world. She had thick eyelashes that looked to be fitted perfectly to her face.

She had a short, straight nose with a small curve at the tip. Her lips were bright red and her cheekbones rose high in her face. She looked like a queen.

I bowed my head in respect, "Your Grace."

The woman made a noise of surprise. "Oh no, my child. I am but a soldier of light. Please, call me Teszi. I do apologize if we scared you earlier." She looked behind her to her men, they had not taken off they're helms and they're hands rested on their swords.

"Please, relax. You're scaring the poor child." They immediately removed their hands from their weapons and placed them behind their backs. She brought her gaze back to me.

"What is your name child?" She took on a softer tone, which I found pleasing. It was the first time I had met someone who didn't want to beat me for fun.

I shook my head, "I-I do not have a name," I looked away from her in shame. It was considered a shame to not give a child a name. Teszi seemed saddened by this and sighed deeply.

"Come, child. I shall care for you." She stood up quickly, making me flinch. "I promise there is nothing to fear. Not from us." Taking in her words, I looked towards my dead master and his wife, still lying on the ground in front of their cabin.

She glanced over to them, then motioned for her men. "Bury them behind the cabin. Come, the Mother of Light awaits."

If there was anything I learned from being a slave, it was not to trust anyone

If there was anything I learned from being a slave, it was not to trust anyone.

Even if they promise to keep you safe.

We had been riding for two days, heading in a direction I couldn't remember. Everything I was seeing was new to me. I had never known anything other than that small shack, it had been my home for many years.

I was riding with Teszi, the two soldiers following behind. They didn't seem to pay me any mind, just looking in the trees that surrounded us. I had never seen trees as big as these before or as many. It was amazing to see so much nature in one place.

As far back as I can remember I've been a slave, most likely since birth. I never knew my parents and I suspected they were killed, but I was never sure. Teszi suddenly stopped the horse, snapping me out of my haze.

I looked around to see we had entered a small clearing in the trees. "We make camp here tonight. We move at sunrise." The soldiers got off their horses and began setting camp, while Teszi continued to look through the trees. "Keep your eyes open. We are not the only ones in the wood tonight."

She got off her horse then pulled me off. I landed on the ground with shaky feet. I'd never ridden a horse before so my balance was very off and my legs were sore.

Teszi chuckled, "You'll get used to it, trust me. We have a long way to go, child."

So

So. What are you thoughts?

What do you think of Teszi and her soldiers? What are they doing with the main character?

Since it is still kind of a mystery, do you think the main character is male or female?

And why don't they have a name?

If you'd like to know the answers to these questions, please, keep reading. There will be more chapters to come. More of the adventure to unravel.

Stay freaky ;)
