~ 3rd Person POV ~
As Ash fell asleep a second time and finally woke up on time for breakfast he sighed and rubbed his eyes reaching over to see Ashley next to him but no Gary making him sit up and look around
"where's daddy?" Ashley mumbled sleepily as Ash turned to her semi-startled
"I'm not sure sweetie, i too just woke up" Ash smiled racking her hair as the girl gave him a sweet smile as the two heard the door creek open
"morning my sunshine's!" Gary grinned as he walked in with a tray of food
"morning" Ash smiled sweetly as Ashley sat up
"morning daddy" she giggled

"pancakes for this morning, I told Crystal to put extra chocolate syrup for the two sweetie's" Gary grinned as Ash and Ashley giggled
"thank you daddy!" Ashley giggled once more and started stuffing her face with the pancakes making Gary chuckle as he sat at the foot of the bed
"eat slow sweetie" he smiled as the girl nodded with chocolate syrup under her lip
"not hungry?" Gary blinked as he saw Ash didn't touch his pancakes yet since he had his focus on Ashley
"uh yes I am, I-I was just distracted" Ash slightly giggled and started eating as Gary smiled at him lightly

Once Crystal went over to have Ashley to chose an outfit for her day and do her hair it left Gary and Ash alone
"do you feel better?" Gary smiled
"a bit, but still" Ash started and sighed
"I feel nothing more but guilt" Ash said
"don't" Gary said getting up and sitting by Ash and holding Ash against his chest
"you're gonna be fine" Gary murmured kissing the boy's forehead
"thank you" Ash murmured caressing Gary's arms that were across his chest

"speaking about it, how are you and your family gonna deal with funeral expenses?" Gary asked racking strands of Ash's hair
"well his widow-wife and I were talking about that but we're not too sure, she doesn't exactly have much money since my dad was the one who would work and not her, but I mean I can spare some of my tuition money I owe, I can make it up I do work three jobs" Ash said with a small smile
"I can help you with the funeral expenses if you'd like" Gary smiled
"you don't have to, I wouldn't want to use you" Ash shook his head
"don't worry, I don't mind" Gary smiled
"I'll see" Ash smiled looking up at him as Gary kissed him

"thank you for bringing me home" Ash smiled as Gary nodded
"don't worry about it" Gary smiled as Ash was turning to leave but Gary held him back
"I'll go in with you until your mom comes" Gary smiled as Ash nodded
"thank you, that's very sweet" Ash said and smiled back
"would you like something to eat or drink?" Ash said sweetly as they went into the house and Gary looked around
"no, but thank you" Gary smiled as the ravenette smield
"sit down, I'll be back, I need to call my mom" he said as he went to the kitchen and Gary sat down

"hi sweetie I'm sorry I didn't know about what happened" Delia said as she bursted through the door with Reggie behind her
"it's okay mom" Ash smiled lightly as the two hugged
"I'm so sorry about what happened as well, that was very unexpected" Delia said as Ash nodded
"mhm, but it's fine" he smiled lightly

"I was telling Ash that I can help with funeral expenses if you want me to" Gary smiled lightly at Delia who smiled back and was about to respond Ash cut in
"but I told him it wasn't necessary, I can just give up my tuition money it's not a big deal" Ash smiled
"you're already owing that money though, you wouldn't want to get deeper into that debt sweetie" Delia said as Ash nodded lightly
"I don't mind, I really don't. plus your mom is right Ash, I wouldn't want you stress about it later on" Gary smiled as Ash sighed
"fine, if you insist" Ash smiled lightly as Gary smiled back
