Chapter 4 - Upcoming Lunch Date

~ Ash's POV ~
I entered the house and sighed
"wow look who's home" I heard someone cooed as I sighed knowing it was Paul
"Paul I'm not in the mood" I said as I walked to the kitchen to get something to eat
"you made me look stupid" he said as I rolled my eyes
"you made yourself look stupid, not me" I said as I walked out the kitchen after getting a cookie
"so did you like the job?" he said in a demanding tone
"that's none of your business" I said as I turned on the TV
"it is, now tell me you like it or not?" Paul said as I rolled my eyes
"yes, now can you please leave me alone if you'll be getting mad?" I scowled
"whatever" he muttered and left as I rolled my eyes

– Time Skip To The Next Day –

I got up like usual and got ready for the day and then I got my bus ticket money for my ride to the school and sighed as I got my things and started walking downstairs until–
"I'll be your ride to the school today" Paul gave me a small grin
"why?" I blinked  
"and stop grinning you're scaring me" I added as he rolled his eyes
"whatever you ready?" he said as I nodded slowly and felt as he grabbed my arm and lead me outside to his car

"thank you bye" I smiled when we got to the school and I closed the car door behind me and in that split second Paul was now in front of me
"w-wait– wha–?" I said looking back and fourth as I swore he was inside the car a minute ago
"let's go I'm going to walk you in" he signaled
"Paul I'm not going to get lost" I sighed
"just looking out for you so let's go" he said as I sighed and led the way

~ 3rd Person POV ~
as Paul left the classroom and got outside where kids were now arriving to the school
Paul sighed then something caught his eye as he focused more he realized it was Gary
as he observed more he saw as Gary was putting a pink unicorn backpack on a little girl who to Paul looked a lot him, the auburn spiky hair which was arranged into pigtails, and big green shiny eyes
Gary then got a rose arrangement which made Paul boil in jealousy knowing they were for Ash
"what do you think you're doing?" Paul said as he approached the auburn haired man
"what are YOU doing here?" Gary shot back with an eyebrow raising

"daddy–" Ashley started until Gary cut her off
"go without me sweetie, I'll meet you inside" he smiled as the girl nodded slowly and bowed in respect to Paul and skipped away
"daddy?" Paul pressed as he snorted
"oh so is it against the law to have a daughter now?" Gary raised an eyebrow

"no, I just think it's pretty pathetic to shoot your shot at someone when you've already been married" Paul said crossing his arms
"first of all, I'm not divorced, my wife died, second of all, it's not your business if I want to get back into dating, and third of all, if I'm shooting my shot at Ash it's because I got respect for him and well, i find him very beautiful now excuse me, I'd like give him these" Gary said walking off until he saw Paul approach random tulips in the school garden and yanked them with everything and roots making Gary snort as he walked off but then saw Paul race to the door making Gary grit his teeth and race to the door as well

The two then got to the hallway that lead to Ash's classroom and raced to the classroom
"move!" Gary growled as the two tried going through Ash's door as they got stares from the kids and Gary's daughter face planted herself
"how about you move pretty boy" Paul retorted as they kept pushing each other and Ash turned red out of embarrassment
"continue working on writing your names children" Ash said sweetly as he approached the door and made the two men exit with him
"I got you this rose arrangement, I hope you like it" Gary smiled at Ash then was shoved by Paul
"I-I got you these tulips fresh from the garden!" Paul said nervously as Ash blinked at the tulips which some were missing pedals

"uh thanks?" Ash blinked taking both the arrangement and tulips
"I'll be back" he mumbled and went into his classroom
"next time can you please act more mature, i don't like how you two acted in front of my students" Ash sighed
"will do, I'm sorry" Gary said genuinely as Paul scowled
"don't speak so civilized when you're not" Paul retorted
"says the one who loses his shit when I come through the door" Gary scoffed as Paul gritted his teeth
"okay stop! If you're going to fight go outside but not in the school full of children!" Ash scowled and slammed the door of his classroom leaving the two men confused

As the class finished up Ash sighed
"Mr. Ketchum are you mad at my daddy?" a voice spoke as Ash turned over to see Ashley
"I'm not sweetie, he just frustrated me but I'm not mad" the boy racked the girl's auburn hair as the girl smiled
"okay" she chimed hugging Ash making his heart melt as he hugged her back
the girl then pulled back and touched the white clip in the ravenette's hair and smiled sweetly
"daddy loves you" she smiled and hugged the boy again as the boy blushed
'he loves me?' Ash thought as he kept the auburn haired girl in his arms

Later that day Ash went to his last interview at Gary's office 
when Ash got there he thanked Sawyer who took him to the offices
Ash sighed as he walked to the office number Gary had told him to go to the day before but before he got there he spotted the auburn haired man
Ash quickly wanted to leave his sight considering he was still mad about what happened

but he spotted him anyways

"hey Ash" the man smiled at Ash who gave him an immediate annoyed look
"you're mad?" Gary frowned
"maybe" the boy muttered
"look I'm sorry, but that Paul guy who started–" Ash started until cut him off
"I don't care who started it, you both were immature" Ash retorted with a scowl as Gary bit his lip
"I'm sorry again" he frowned as Ash sighed
"I'm going to go" Ash said as he walked passed the man who watched as the boy walked off

After his interview Gary spotted Ash again
"Ash" Gary said getting in front of the boy who ignored him and went the other direction as Gary hit in front of him again
"let's talk about it please?" Gary frowned
"talk about what? How you made my 4 and 5 year old students including your daughter find out about my love life?" Ash scowled
"look I'm sorry please forgive me, I don't want our relationship to be this way" Gary said genuinely as Ash couldn't help but soften at the handsome exterior
"fine" he muttered as Gary grinned
"but!" Ash then said
"if you and Paul are going to be showing your rivalry please do it somewhere else" Ash sighed
"I'll do my best" Gary smiled as Ash smiled back

"so you start tomorrow?" Gary smiled as he grabbed the boy's hand making him blush
"y-yeah well, actually your assistant said he'd call me if any changes but I guess so yeah" Ash smiled
"you will start tomorrow, I want you to be my secretary" Gary smiled fidgeting with the boy's fingers as Ash smiled
"okay" Ash smiled as Gary smiled back

"would you like to go out for some lunch?" Gary grinned as Ash couldn't help but blush
'out? does he mean a date?' Ash thought to himself blushing
"Ash?" Gary chuckled as Ash snapped out of his thoughts
"yes?" he blinked
"yes or no?" the auburn man chuckled
"u-uh yes!" Ash stammered and blushed madly as Gary chuckled

"deal" he smiled and grabbed the ravenette's hand leading him to the truck.
