More Than The Gems

Chapter 7

The examination week came, I'm admitting that I am nervous. Knowing it'll take me to nowhere, I'm doing my best to forget what I feel. Pumunta ako sa desk and my eyes widened when I saw a box of chocolates and canned orange juice in my table. There's a sticky note attached in the box so I held it and read.

You can do it, don't be nervous and calm yourself for a peace of mind. There, you can remember what you've studied. Good morning! :)

I pouted as I finish reading the letter. I looked at Laxus na seryosong nagbabasa. Mamaya na lang ako mag te-thank you. I teared the cover and bit some chocolates habang nagbabasa. Maya maya, the teacher arrived and handed our exams.

Like what's was written in the letter, I relaxed and calm myself and it's effective cause I don't feel any pressure. I'm a little nervous but I trust  myself and blocked it.

"Laxus, thank you nga pala kanina ah? It's indeed a big help," I told on Laxus habang naka upo kami rito sa field. Tahimik rito at may iilang estudyanteng nag uusap. Kairo and Kazumi are talking too in canteen kaya hinayaan muna namin sila.

"It's okay, you really looked nervous yesterday so I thought of it," ngumiti ako. "Uhh, here pala." ibinigay ko sa kanya ang tinapay na ginawa ko kanina bago ako umalis.

"What's that?" he asked kaya ngumiti akong binuksan ang plastic. "It's a sandwich with chocolate syrup inside, it's my favorite flavor of bread, I made four pieces earlier." hindi pa rin sya umimik kaya ngumuso ako at inilapit na lang sa kanya ang tinapay. Sumubo naman sya.

"See? How does it taste?" I asked. He gulped and licked his lower lips kaya napaiwas ako ng tingin. "It's sweet, and delicious." I smiled widely. "How about you? What's your favorite flavor?" his lips protruded like he's thinking.

"Egg mayo," he said making my head creased. "What's that?" I asked, confused. May sumilay na maliit na ngiti sa kanyang labi. "It has a good taste too, you should try." he encouraged pero di ko naman alam yon.

"I don't know that and how to do that," I complained. He chuckled softly making me froze. It's so good to hear, his voice, laugh and chuckled. Nababaliw na ata ako.

"May I ask if Kairo and Kazumi are your long time friends?" tumingin muna ako sa field bago sagutin ang tanong nya. "No, I just knew them here also. Kazumi talked to me even she don't know me that time. She's a friendly person." I reminisced our first meeting.

"So you don't have a long time friend? Or you have in..." he couldn't continue, maybe he was unsure. "London," pagtatapos ko. I smiled. "I have a neighbor and I can say that he's my long time bestfriend." I said. Hindi na kami gaanong nakakapag usap ni Denschel nitong nakaraang linggo dahil nga busy ako mag review.

"He," pag uulit nya and I nodded. "Yup, he's currently in the Phillippines right now, he really did enjoy travelling in that country. He wants me to visit him there and said we'll travel together." inilapit ko ulit ang tinapay sa kanya at kumagat naman ang lalaki. "He's a good man but a jerk inside though I knew him better. He's always teasing me but minutes after, will run on me like a kid when there's a thing he couldn't do." ganun si Denschel, maaaring naaasar ako sa kanya pero hindi ko sya matiis.

"Did you like him?" biglaang tanong nito kaya napa awang ang bibig ko at mahinang tumawa. "I like him as a friend, and not in a romantic way no!" angal ko. I can't even imagine marrying. I want to vomit. Electricity rushed on me when he held my arms at inilapit ito sa bibig nya para kumagat ulit ng tinapay.

"How about you? Are you seeing someone on a romantic way also?" I asked him kaya napatingin siya sakin but later on, his eyes filled with so many emotions.
