Chapter Thirteen

" You people like amebo" I said as they were all looking at me with expectant faces.

" Answer the question, don't cut corners" Stephanie said and I laughed

" Yes, are you satisfied" I responded and they waited for me to continue talking

" What again?" I asked

" Come on, expatiate" Pelumi said

" There is nothing to expatiate on, I had a crush on a boy in my church and he didn't ever notice me which is good by the way. So there is no story" I said smiling

" Why didn't he notice you. Was he blind" Stephanie said and I laughed

" Do you still like him" Promise said

" Which like, that boy isn't deserving of her at all" Stephanie said

" 'I had', past tense" I answered

" Maybe he is focusing on God" Pelumi said and we laughed

" You guys" I said laughing

" I'm even glad he didn't notice me. I was able to overcome the crush I had on him easily" I said with a smile

" Is he the only one you liked" Promise asked

" I think so, he is the only one I liked for a considerable length of time. Of course I admire God's creation when I see a handsome guy" I said smiling

" I'm not sure about all this liking stuffs maybe I will ask my Daddy about it but I did know that acting on the feelings I had for him wasn't appropriate at my age" I said

" You talk to your Dad about things like that" Pelumi asked

" Of course" I responded

" She and her Dad talks and acts like friends. My own Dad, it's good morning sir and I need money sir that we use to do" Stephanie said

" Same here. I know my Dad loves me but he doesn't even show it to my face. He will be doing one stone face about" Promise said and they agreed

" Wow" I said

" You having a very nice relationship with your Father is really cool. Is it me that will be telling my Father I like a boy. My house will be very hot that day" Pelumi said and we laughed

" My Father will even ask me to take him to the boy's house to warn him" Stephanie said and we laughed

" At least the relationship between me and my Father is still somehow okay. For my brother, they are always frowning at each other. The day my Father hugged Tife ehn, Tife was so happy" Stephanie said and we laughed

" Why did he hug Tife" I asked

" Because he won best graduating student in secondary school but that only lasted for few days after then they started frowning at each other again" Stephanie said and we laughed

" Thank God you liked someone. I was thinking you will say having a crush or liking someone is a sin" Promise said

" No oo. Wura's Christianity is not like that" Pelumi said

" Like how?" I asked curiously

" Like your Christianity isn't choking. Like don't do this, don't do that. For some devoted christians everything is a sin and it can be very overbearing at times but your own way of Christianity helps me discard some misconceptions I had about devote Christianity" Pelumi said and I smiled broadly

" I'm feeling myself" I said fanning myself with a smile planted on my face at her words

" Oh no. The bible says we should  take no glory in ourselves" I said and we laughed.
