Harlow listened intently. "How do I fill it back up?" Alistair stretched against her. "It varies. Sometimes witches need to mix potions. Sometimes witches need to duel other witches. But most of the time they just need to rest and let it reup on its own. Your magic is a beautiful gift, but use it when absolutely necessary. Witch magic is not the same as demonic powers as the demonic power is limitless."
"Will you help me with my demon side? Can you bring Kali forth without me blacking out?" Alistair sighed heavily. "Unfortunately, until we get your father to remove the cloak it's going to be the way it's been." Harlow huffed before thinking about her angel side. "How do I get my angel side to come out? At the moment, I've only heard her in my head." Alistair thought on it.
"Angels are different. They don't really have a need to show themselves unless their host is in danger or they're present in the holy realms." Harlow nodded in understanding. "I will say being with your mates is changing things and I don't think your parents took that into account." Harlow nodded also agreeing with that assessment.
"Come on, let's go take a nap. All this newfound information over the past few days is leaving me exhausted at every turn." Alistair got up and ran up the stairs as Harlow followed behind him. She looked at the clock that read 3:30 pm and sighed. She wanted to set an alarm, but she also wanted to see how much sleep her body truly needed to get back to center. She hoped that when she awoke, she'd feel better about her situation and figure out a plan to not only confront her father, but get him to remove the cloak.
Work did not feel the same for the men without Harlow present. They didn't know how they were able to come into the office prior to meeting her. Now that they knew what it was like to work a few feet away from their loving and beautiful mate they were hooked. "I miss her," Wes and Val said at the same time causing one another to laugh. "She's taking a much-needed break from everything, including us so that she can adjust accordingly." Damien offered thinking on their mate. "Check in on her," Wes begged as he and Val crowded behind him. "Fine," Damien said waving his hand and revealing a crystal-clear image of Harlow sleeping in her bed.
"She's so beautiful," Wes smiled as they watched her for a second longer. Then her eyes flew open to reveal all black. "Hello loves," Kali said before winking. "How are you, sweetheart?" Wes asked her with a smile. "Better now that I'm out." Damien took her in. "How are you out?" Kali shrugged. "She's still very much so angry and it's festering, so I tap into that whenever I can. She's depleted and asleep right now so we get a little wiggle room to stretch our wings." They all nodded in understanding. "How is she?" Val asked worriedly. "She's hurt, rightfully so, but we'll be alright. We always are."
"You don't have to do anything alone anymore, my love." Damien said to her with a small smile. "I know and she knows. It's just a lot to take in. She was a mortal in her mind until last night." They realized how true that was and understood all that she could possibly be feeling. "Get some rest, Kali. We'll talk to you later." Val said with a smile earning him a wink. Damien waved his hand and watched as the image disappeared. "We need to do something for her tonight. Flowers maybe?" Wes suggested. "No, we should get her an engagement ring!" Val said happily.
"You want to propose? Now? After everything she has going on." Damien stated as though he were crazy. "This is the perfect time. We marry her and then introduce her to the supernatural world as our mate and the human world as our wife." Wes shook his head. "She's going to hate that. You know her fears about people knowing we're together since we're her bosses."
Val shrugged. "Then we'll fire her or start another company and have her be over their IT department. I don't care I just want a ring on her finger and the world to know she's ours." Damien looked at the lovesick St. Valentine and shook his head. "We'll each pick a present that we all know we'd all approve of and go from there." Damien suggested already knowing the gift he would give her. It was unconventional and more than likely dangerous, but he knew she'd appreciate it and it would help her heal.
"Mr. Terni, Ms. Lawson is here to see you." Mrs. Clara bit out and Val couldn't help but sigh. He knew that Mrs. Clara hated Lydia and had pestered him for years to stop entertaining her. He wished he had listened. He took in the sad expression on this mate's face when she brought up their relationship and it was his fault that it was there in the first place. He had to officially end things with Lydia once and for all. "Send her in." He watched as the slender White and Asian woman walked seductively to his desk. He couldn't deny, Lydia was gorgeous, but she wasn't Harlow.
Her slender waist and body used to do something for him, but now he desired thick thighs that would wrap around him, hips he could hold onto as he pounded into her and large breasts he could latch on to like a newborn. He couldn't even think about her round peach ass or he'd blow right then and there. "Hi Damien," Lydia smiled at him and Damien wanted to scoff. He had made the stupid mistake of getting high off a mixture of hellfire and jimsonweed and engaged in a threesome with Val and Lydia. It happened one time, but she felt like she had somehow conquered the brooding beast.
"You rang, babe." Lydia said smiling down at Val. "Don't call me that. Ever. We're not in a relationship. We were never in a relationship. We are never going to be in a relationship. I called you up here to make that painstakingly clear. Do you understand?" Lydia looked madder than ever. "Who is she?" Val looked at her bored. "Who is who?" Lydia slammed her hands on the desk as her brown eyes bleed red and her fangs descended. "Who the fuck are you cheating on me with? Is it that bitch in Accounting?"
Wes shook his head as Damien watched on somewhat amused. "I'm not cheating on you, because we were never in a relationship. If you must know, the guys and I have found our mate. She is our one true love and the only woman that will ever have my heart. You've been warned Lydia. There is nothing going on between us, so if I hear that you're spreading lies or blabbing about the past I will end you." She saw as his eyes changed colors and caused her to back away from his desk.
"Do you understand me, Lydia?" She nodded her head before saying yes. She turned away before he could see her tears fall. She used hyper speed to make it back to her office not caring if the few mortals saw a blur dashing by. She thought over all that Val had to say and fluctuated between sadness and pure rage. She wanted to find out who this mate was and see if she could take her. "Val is mine." She whispered to herself before she concocted a plan that she figured would help her determine who their mystery mate was.
