Before, in the middle of the night, when sadness hit me... I always remind myself to just look up into the sky because that way, I'd realize that no matter how dark the sadness is, there's always going to be that something... or maybe someone that'll shine brightly for me.
What Ash had said earlier made me sad but as I was watching him threw his son in the air and then catching him after was enough to made me feel the happiness I just felt earlier, it prevailed again.
I could hear Niell's giggles from where I was sitting. His smile was way more brighter than the moon that's looming above our heads. Ash's eyes glistened differently every time he was just watching Niell play with the waves.

Napatayo ako at lumapit sa kanila nang madapa si Niell. I was so worried kasi nasubsob 'yong mukha niya sa buhanginan pero no'ng binuhat naman siya ni Ash, humalakhak lang siya nang malakas na parang walang nangyari. Pabirong kinurot ni Ash ang ilong niya at ginulo pa ang buhok.
They stared back at me and they both smiled. Now that I got to see them closer—together, na-realize ko na mas kamukha ni Niell si Ash which was a little unfair to me. Kasi ba naman, siyam na buwan ko siyang dinala tapos paglabas niya, kamukha niya tatay niya... especially when they're laughing.
It's really unfair because most of the time we were making love, I always do a lot than Ash... he was just lying on the bed until he came. Mas effective siguro kung dog style, baka ro'n mas maging kamukha ko si Niell.
Humiga silang dalawa sa buhanginan and I had no choice but to also do the same. Nasa gitna namin ni Ash si Niell. Niell and I were using his father's right arm as our pillow. Nakayakap si Niell kay Ash, ako naman nakayakap kay Niell. Humahalakhak si Niell kasi kinikiliti siya ni Ash gamit ang kaliwang kamay.
"Daddy, s-stop! I can't b-breathe anymore..." tumatawang saway ni Niell kay Ash.
Ash chuckled, too. "I'll just stop if you kiss me here." Itinuro niya ang kanang pisngi.
"All right, all right, Daddy. Stop tickling me first," Niell said immediately in between his heavy breathing. I smiled and hugged him even tighter but I was stiffened when Ash pulled me closer so I could hug him, too.
I looked at him but his gaze was fixated on his son. Niell kissed him, do'n niya lang ako tiningnan. "Where's your Mommy's kiss?" he asked.
Agad akong tiningnan ni Niell at hinalikan... he kissed me on the forehead. "I love you, Mommy."
Pumasok na kami sa Villa nila nang makatulog si Niell sa gitna namin. Gusto ko nga sanang sa tent muna na sinet-up din ni Ash ako mag-stay kaso biglang umambon, malakas pati ang hangin. And knowing Ash? I knew he'd stay beside me kaya pumasok na ako sa loob, kung magtatagal pa kasi kami sa labas magkakasakit ang isang 'yon.
"Aivanns, pa-hotspot ako sa 'yo." Naiinis kasi ako sa wifi sa resort malapit dito, ang hina. Mas malakas pa free data, buti maraming load si Aivanns... Ubusin ko talaga 'yan 'pag naka-connect na ako.
"Ayos ka. May ambag ka ba sa buhay ko?" tanong niya habang naglalaro pa rin ng COD, sobrang ingay niya kanina pa. "'Wag na iligtas 'yang tanginang 'yan, nagpapabuhat lang 'yan, eh." Narinig ko 'yong kalaro niya, ang sabi, 'Iwanan mo na 'yan gaya no'ng pag-iwan ng ex mo sa 'yo.'
It was so awkward! Nagkatinginan pa kami ni Ash habang nagtitimpla siya ng kape sa kitchen.
Tatlong beses sumulyap sa 'kin si Aivanns. "Luh, tinrashtalk ka, pre? Payag ka no'n?" asar niya sa akin.
Binato ko siya no'ng pekeng cactus na nasa center table, sapul sa mukha. "Bilis pa-connect na! May i-che-check akong e-mail. 'Pag itong supplier ng cupcakes na 'to nawala pa, ikaw ang gagawin kong icing sa ibabaw ng cupcake."
