Here's the continuation from the last part, with your text exchange with Amelia, where out of the blue,  she asks you out on a date!

Sorry if I've ended it shorter than you'd have liked. It was a late night, so I just pushed out a quick bit for you to read.

Anyway, please, enjoy the fluff!

...

You sat there with thoughts roaming your head in great quantity. Albeit tired, you couldn't help but to feel giddy. You wondered as to how you've captured Amelia's heart throughout your time together. You glanced at your phone again, sighing in relief. Plenty of time, you thought, but your head said otherwise. You shrugged it off as it was just part of you. You knew yourself well, an avid overthinker at best, but you've learned to suppress it with help from the detective.

But now, all you could think of was Amelia with her soft yet, scratchy morning voice, ringing in your head like a melody. You couldn't imagine how she could've felt when she said those words. It would've made sense, right? That had to be the reason why she ended the call out of nowhere.

"No way." You felt warm inside and let out a chuckle. "No way."

You figured it would be a waste to be thinking, when you could be spending the day with Amelia. You stood up and shivered. The cold draft that crept through the gap under your door exhibited its effects onto you,

"Cold, cold!" You muttered. Grabbing the towel from behind the door, you made your way into the bathroom. Even though you had socks on, the cold tiling siphoned your warmth. You flicked on the shower to its' hottest setting, and you got to work.

...

You ended up dressing as what you thought was appropriate for the cold October weather, which consequently was a simple white hoodie, sweatpants, and white shoes. All that was left was just your belongings, which was your lanyard, smart watch, and a fanny pack that draped over your shoulders, holding your wallet and AirPods.

You were about roughly 15 minutes early, so all you could do was kill time. You made sure that you were ready and you stared yourself off in the mirror. With both hands, you slapped your cheeks to rejuvenate yourself. As you walked out of your room, you were startled by the ringing of your doorbell.

"Jesus. What'd I order now?" You didn't bother to look through the little peephole and you unlocked the door.

"Ah! Y/N!" The wind blew Amelia's golden blonde hair. She was wearing an iconic outfit that reflected her avatar during cold winter streams.

"Y-You're a bit early

"Y-You're a bit early..." You chuckled nervously, truthfully, you were stunned.

"O-Oh, uh, I hope I'm not too much trouble..."

"No, no! You're fine!" After those words, the wind stopped, and a great silence spoke between you two. You looked into Amelia's eyes and she was staring right back at you. For a moment, time seemed to stop, and her blue eyes were the only thing that existed in front of you.

The wind picked up and suddenly both of you were back on Earth. Amelia noticed this too and blushed momentarily.

"Shall we get going?" You suggested while turning away to lock the door behind you as it closed shut, though you were really trying to hide the large red streak on your face.

"That would be a good idea." By the time you've turned around, she was facing the other direction. It crossed your mind that you've done something wrong, but you kept your hopes high and shrugged it off.

...

The walk was awkward and mostly silent, where it was broken briefly when Amelia had suggested the mall as a place to go. You couldn't help but feel anxious that you've done something wrong, it bugged you so much that maybe asking would help. You stopped, and so did Amelia.

"Can I-" You both interrupted each other as you tried to say the same thing.

"Go ahead." You insisted, while bracing for the worst to come out of her mouth.

"You're worried about earlier, right?"

"Yeah, you kind of read my mind there, haha." You looked away and scratched your neck.

"Y/N... I can tell when you're stressed out." She grabbed both of your hands and enveloped them. Her hands were cold, but it was comforting as if they were warm.

"You can relax, don't worry about today too much." She gave off a radiant smile, which you could only melt to. "The last thing you would be worrying about is whether or not you locked the door to your house."

"Did I-"

"Yes, Y/N." She giggled. She turned around and began to walk, tailing her left arm with your hand in it still. "C'mon, no time to waste! You're with the best detective in the world!"

"You sure that's not a self-proclaimed title?" You jutted. She paused again and faced you. She pouted and pinched your cheek.

"I'm going to get Bubba to attack you, Y/N." You hadn't thought Bubba was a harmful dog, except he could definitely give a serious bite.

"Ow, ow! Okay, I'm sorry, 'best detective in the world'." You apologized, which she then let go of your cheek and resumed.

"Alrighty' then, I forgive you. After all, Y/N, with that cute face of yours, I couldn't resist."

"What?" You pretended not to hear, since you wanted to hear those exact words all over again.

"Enough games! Hurry up or the mall is going to close!" She laughed as she picked up the pace, effectively dragging you.
