people talk about the innocence of youth
like the greatest virtue is being young
but it's the greatest curse
we were once young and then grew up
only to realize how good we had it
how we were free and wild
now we can't leave the earth
even when we long to fly
but you cannot explain this to a child
you cannot explain the freedom of flying to a bird when all it has known is the sky
