MIDNIGHT RAIN STRANGERS
A CAMBIO AU

It was almost midnight but Camila doesn't seem to care. She just continued to jog with music blasting through her earbuds. She knew she couldn't sleep after a nightmare plagued her sleep yet again.

It seems like jogging at midnight became a normal occurrence for Camila.

It was quite a silent windy night. Camila felt the wind brush through her face as she ran.

But Camila doesn't notice that someone was following her and before she knew it, someone had already had her head locked and pointed a knife at her neck.

Fuck, being mugged at this time of an hour, how lucky. Camila thought to herself as she tried to composure herself against the mugger.

As panic surged through her veins, Camila's mind raced to find a way out of this dangerous situation. She focused on the mugger's grip, searching for any weakness she could exploit. With a surge of adrenaline, she swiftly brought her foot down on the assailant's instep, causing him to loosen his hold for a split second.

In that brief moment, Camila broke free from his grasp, her heart pounding in her chest. She stumbled backward, gasping for breath, as the mugger recovered and lunged towards her again. Just as fear threatened to overwhelm her, a figure emerged from the darkness, stepping between Camila and her attacker.

It was a tall, muscular man, radiating confidence and strength. He locked eyes with the mugger, his gaze filled with determination. Without uttering a word, the stranger swiftly and skillfully disarmed the assailant, sending the knife clattering to the ground. Camila watched in awe as the tables turned in her favor.

With the mugger now defenseless, the stranger restrained him effortlessly, ensuring he couldn't escape. Camila's initial fear began to fade, replaced by gratitude and relief. She approached the stranger cautiously, her voice trembling with emotion.

"Thank you." She whispered, tears welling in her eyes. "You saved me."

The stranger nodded, a reassuring smile on his face.

"I happened to be passing by and saw you in trouble. I couldn't just stand by and do nothing."

Camila felt an immediate connection with this stranger, sensing an underlying goodness within him. She couldn't help but feel a sense of familiarity as if their paths were meant to cross. With an act of newfound courage, she extended her hand.

"I'm Camila." She introduced herself, a mixture of gratitude and curiosity in her voice.

The stranger shook her hand firmly.

"I'm Fabio. It's a pleasure to meet you, Camila."

As they stood there, connected by this intense moment, Camila couldn't shake the feeling that Fabio's presence had saved her in more ways than one. She knew that this encounter was more than just a chance meeting—it was the beginning of an unexpected friendship, and perhaps even something more.

Just as Camila was about to voice her thoughts, dark clouds began to gather overhead. The sky grew ominous, and droplets of rain started to fall, dampening their clothes and the pavement beneath their feet. Camila looked up, her eyes widening in surprise.
