We waited for the rest of the teams to be called out.  Yellow came in third and blue in fourth.  When the teams were called out, the coaches all met and discussed between themselves and the groups dispersed.  Each runner went their own separate ways as parents began to come down the bleachers.  Some parents went down to the field while others waited by the entrance.  Alana looked at me with nervous eyes as Dimitri slowly made his way towards us.

"Hey, you!"  I called out to him.

"Hey, you!"  He called out with a smile. He nodded to me like he was telling me to come down onto the track.

"What?  No I'm not going down there, that's for the runners."

"Just get down here!"  He called out with a smile and a defiant look in his eyes.

I rolled my eyes and turned to Alana.  "You wanna come with?"  I asked.

"Sure."  She answered solely as she pushed her hair behind her ear.

I followed the railing to an opening that lead down to the track and continued it down.  Dimitri followed us as we met him at the bottom of the stairs.

"Hey."  I said simply.

"Hey."  He smiled back.

"Looks like you did really good out there!"  I blurted out.

He looked almost confused.  As he answered I couldn't help but at least look in my peripheral at his biceps, "Really?  I mean Mark passed me."  He questioned.

"Psh, I think you did great!"

"Hmm... well... thanks." He smiled and as he did my heart made a little giddy dance.

"I mean... I don't really know how this sport works but... I mean ya look good!" I gave him a thumbs up. He couldn't help but burst with a sudden chuckle.

"I appreciate it."

I couldn't help but notice how some clumped strands of hair fell over his face.  He was quite handsome even now.  "Your hairs getting pretty long."  I said reaching up.  Just barely reaching it I grabbed just the front and pulled it down over his face.

He grabbed my hand and made me let go of his hair, "What's that mean?  You don't like it?"  He said defiantly.

"What?  I didn't say that."  I argued with a smile.

"Ok, just making sure."  He giggled.  "I think it's getting a little too long.  I might cut it short again."  He explained.

"Oh... well don't let me fool yah.  I think you er-... it looks good anyways."  I caught myself.

"Well thanks, I will keep that in mind."  He smiled.

"Alright, love bir-... I mean... friends." She corrected herself with a smile like it was intentional, "You two want a picture?"

I couldn't help but roll my eyes and Dimitri groaned with a smile.

"Yeah, could you? Would you mind?"  Dimitri asked as he backed up into the track.  "But I don't have my phone with me..." He looked me in the eyes and I could tell this was his way of asking me.

"Ugh."  I answered rolling my eyes with a smile.  I pulled my phone out and slid it open to the camera app.  "Here, you are."  I said handing Alana my phone. As she took it I couldn't help but watch every one of her movements.

"Alright, back up a little, Dimitris too tall."  She said quickly while looking in the camera.

I walked up next to Dimitri as he wrapped his arm around me and pulled me into his hip, just like the photo in the circle.
