The next few days were spent with zulema doing everything for Maca and Maca spending most of the time lying on their sofa bed. Zulema had to admit that she very much enjoyed doing things for Maca. Although sometimes it made her feel like an old wife. One day during her recovery, Maca tried to get out of bed.
She pulled the blanket off her legs, now wearing grey shorts, and moved them so they were hanging off the bed. Just as she was about to push herself up, Zulema enters the van.
"Que haces rubia?!" She said with a look of worry as she rushed over to maca.
"It's time I got back at it now. I need to stand up Zulema!" She replied as she tried to stand up. But her legs were weak and the gunshot wound still hurt. "Ahh mierda," she said quietly as she fell back to the bed, hoping Zulema didn't hear her struggle.
"Rubia, you need to stay in bed."
"No quieres! Zulema, I need to get up. I feel like a baby just lying here all day," she explained.
"You're acting like a baby Maca so it fits well!" The brunette argued back.
"What?" Maca seemed confused.
"Well Rubia, if you want to stand up, at least let me check your wound first and change the bandage," Zulema requested.
"Vale." As Zulema went to get the first aid kit, Maca gave in and remained sat down. But she had a disappointed look on her face. She hadn't showered in a few days and she wanted to feel the cool winter air on her face outside. She just wanted to be up and about but Zulema wouldn't let her. She knew she was only doing it for Maca's good but she was still annoyed. Zulema can be annoying even when she does the right things, Maca often thinks.

Zulema returns with the kit and opens it on the table next to the sofa bed. "Lie back please," Zulema asks as she prepares a new bandage.
"Yes nurse Zahir," Maca said sarcastically with a smug face as she reluctantly laid back against the caravan. Zulema liked what Maca just called her. It sent a shiver down her spine and an electric shock of something through her. She couldn't say what it was. It did not help the situation of her feelings for the blonde.
"Look, I don't want to be doing this any more than you want this done Rubia."
"Lo sé, lo sé," she said as Zulema began unravelling the bandage on Maca's thigh. Just the close presence of Zulema touching her thigh made Maca feel uncomfortable and raise her heart rate.
"It's getting better Rubia," she stated as she removed the dirty gauze.
"So will I be able to get up?"
"Yes. If you behave," she smirked looking up at the blonde. She returned a smile followed by a little chuckle.
Zulema began to wipe the wound with a sterilising wipe which made Maca wince in pain. "Joder that stings. Every time," Maca said as she clenched her teeth and closed her eyes. "Up," Zulema demanded. She had been changing her bandages for a few days now and they had gotten into some kind of routine where they both know the steps and what either needed to do. It was time for Zulema to put a fresh bandage round Maca's leg meaning Maca needed to bend her leg so she could wrap it around.

And with that, Maca bent her knee, lifting it up so her thigh was elevated. Zulema started wrapping her leg with the new fresh bandage. Maca watched Zulema with slight admiration as she wrapped her leg, hoping she didn't look up and see her staring.
"There, all done. Again," the brunette said as she finished.
"Gracias," Maca replied. Zulema began tidying away the first aid kit as Maca prepared to stand up. "I really need a shower and to get myself dressed, dios. I've been like this for days jaja!" She laughed as she looked down at herself in disgust. She had been wearing the same black bralet and grey shorts for several days now. "Yes rubia you do need a shower," answered Zulema sternly but Maca knew she was messing around. She looked across to Zule in disgust but with a smirk as the brunette walked to the other side of the caravan to return the first aid kit. As she placed it back, she heard a sudden crash and moan. Turning around, she saw Maca on the floor by the bed. "Puta mierda!" She shouted in anger with herself.
"Estas bien?" Zulema said as she walked swiftly to her aid. She didn't want to seem like she was in a rush to reach Maca so she did it subtly.
"Sí sí. Perfecto," Maca sighed with sarcasm to herself.
"What did you do?" Zulema queried.
"I just stood up, walked one step and my legs gave way underneath me," she explained in disbelief.
"It's just because you haven't walked for a few days. Your legs are asleep," the brunette explained looking down at maca, "aquí," she offered out her hand to the blonde on the floor. Hesitantly, she grabbed hold of it with both hands. Zulema pulled her up off the floor, going from using one hand to two. When Maca was standing, she wobbled slightly, trying to get her balance again. All the while still holding onto Zulema's arm.

Not being able to hide it, Zulema began laughing quietly. "Qué?" Maca said seriously, looking at her.
"It's like watching a baby learn to walk," Zule joked laughing some more. She actually found it really cute. Maca looked at Zulema for a moment before speaking with a resistant chuckle, "shut up, it is not." The blondie couldn't help but follow it with a laugh. Soon they were both stood there laughing at Maca's incapability to stand still.
"Now if I let go are you going to be able to stay standing up?" Zule joked.
"I fucking hope so," Maca sighed with a laugh as well as rolling her eyes. A smile spread on Zulema's face.
"Listos? Uno, dos, tres," she counted down before letting go of Maca in front of her.
This time, she managed to stand up without falling back to the floor. "There you go Rubita," said Zulema, making a remark of Maca being like a baby.
Zule walked back a few steps, all the time watching Maca. "Now walk towards me," she said in a soft voice as though she was talking to a little baby. She couldn't resist a laugh again as she teased the blonde before her. Macarena slowly put one foot in front of the other, small little baby steps towards the brunette awaiting her. "Ahh bravo-" Zulema spoke too soon just as Maca was approaching her. She suddenly stumbled forward towards her and Zulema threw out her arms to catch her. Maca ended up caught in Zulema's arms, luckily not hitting the floor. Holding her in her arms for a moment, both laughing, Zulema helped Maca up to stand again.

"Well, I suppose I really am a baby," Maca sighed as they stood laughing together.
