vinnie whirled his head around, watching ashanti walk inside the thai place. a smile formed on his face as he responded, "oh shit. yeah that's her..."

troy nudged his friend's shoulder, "you should totally go introduce yourself and get her number."

"we met last night."

"you met last night?!? what do you mean you met last night?" troy exclaimed slightly, a teasing smirk on his face.

"after i caught grace making out with dom, we were in the kitchen arguing and ash walked in. we made small talk and yeah.."

"they even asked if i could talk to you about texting their friend xan," vinnie smiled glancing at troy.

"who's xan?"

"xan's her friend. apparently, she thinks you're really cute."

troy groaned, "why am i only now finding out you fake bitch. when this is all said and done, i want xan's socials."

"but for now, you need to make your move. ask them for their number once they leave."

vinnie moved his head around hesitantly, "i don't know about all that.. who said she's even interested.."

"uh.... i did. that's evidence enough."

"i think you should go for it," jordan added before skating away.

vinnie was conflicted. he had never seen such a kind and beautiful person before. he saw that in ashanti and didn't want to fuck things up with her.

"i can try..?"

"atta boy vincent! now, i think they finished inside so it's show time!-" troy smiled happily, pushing his friend towards the thai restaurant that ashanti was now walking out of.

vinnie awkwardly scurried over to the girl's car and waited for her to approach.

"uh hi ashanti.."

ashanti looked up at the blonde boy. now being sober, she was able to take his features fully. they had seen the picture of him but in person, his traits were enhanced. he was so... pretty?

his blonde curls were long but were taken care of. his chiseled jaw-line fit his face perfectly. his hazel eyes gleamed more green than brown in the sunlight. he was beautiful.

"we met last night and you're checking me out already? atleast take me on a date first ashanti."

"slow your roll white boy. i wasn't checking you out."

vinnie turned his head to the side, "it looked like you were.. but aye, what do i know?"

ashanti stuck their tongue in their mouth, an amused expression painted her face, "okay then white boy, what can i do for you?"

"i wanted to see if i could get your number..?"

"my number? we barely know eachother."

"we could get to know eachother," vinnie smirked softly, leaning onto ashanti's car.

ashanti rolled her eyes playfully, "that all you came over here for?" vinnie shook his head, "i also wanted to say that you look gorgeous. i didn't know you had freckles."

ashanti felt an unfamilar feeling inside them. their heart warmed as vinnie complimented them. she felt her heat up but kept her cool.

her lips turned upwards into a smile, "thank you.."

"of course ash.. now, can i have your number? how else am i supposed to report back to you when troy falls for xandria?"

ashanti laughed at this, their smile growing, "fair. okay, you've sold me. your phone please."

vinnie had a huge smile of his own. he loved her laugh and wanted to hear it more. handing ashanti his phone, she typed in her number.

she clicked 'contact picture' and pressed take picture. facing the sun, she took a selfie of herself smiling, set the contact to 'ash🖤', and gave vinnie back his phone.

"text me yeah?" ashanti tilted their head slightly, their smile not fading. vinnie nodded, "yes ma'am"

ashanti nodded her head back, opening her car door, "bye v."

vinnie's heart boomed. hearing the normal nickname hit him differently when ashanti said it. he stepped back and let them drive off.

walking back over to the skate area, troy and jordan's jaws were on the ground.

"vincent." troy said, his fist covering his mouth, "please tell me that was her giving you her number."

"troy, that was me falling in love."
