Black Women

The breath of God, presence of the Sun
the original womb of All

The skin of ebony diamonds
The eyes of a sunrise

The hair of coiled sunshine
The kiss of warm sunlight

The soul of golden skies
The heart of God's light

You who are the creator's favorite creation
made in divine claymation

Your spirit, fertile in love
soars graceful and high up above like a dove
only to be gun down by venomous arrows
from hunters whose spirits spites love

Persecuted through-out time
by those who can't fathom the might
of your light

Yet your river of strength flows endlessly
smoothing the hardest of stones caste
by all your enemies

Nothing can bottle your rich mind
home of the cosmos's grapevine

Your courage is ageless as your vitality,
vineyards wine for your immortal beauty

It's not Black girl magic if
your power's organic

Threads of your DNA weaves with stardust
in your hair strands the planet

You whose spirit:
waters this planet
plants this planet
heals this planet
holds this planet
Queen of this planet
You whose spirit is the planet

Earth's cosmic crown
dwindles in light
without the spark of its
treasured heart,

Black Women
