They dragged her through the sun setting woods. She tried her hardest to stop her injured leg from slowing her down. She wouldn't be able to control herself if they hit her again as a ridiculous attempt to argue her slow movements.
They tossed her to the ground, she grunted and gripped her dislocated arm.
"My offspring are such assholes," she muttered. One came up and kicked her side. She coughed yet another ounce of blackened blood.
"What's your name?" A strong voice asked. Repeated growls sounded through the air. They were all directed at her. She spat once again. She never really liked the creatures she created, once she loved them. But evolution made them idiotic, narcissistic, weak fools.
The men behind her knelt towards the direction of the voice. She forced herself to her knees and kept her head down.
"I do not have one," she said quickly. A hand gripped her maddened curly white hair tightly. She hissed from the pain.
"Answer our Alpha's question," he growled.
"I just did you impudent child," she swore. He raised his hand, claws elongated and aimed for her throat. She sighed, at least she'd have a nap.
A loud, wet growl sounded through the air and the warrior was shoved across the pathway and into a tree. He held her face in his hands and he looked at her with eyes filled with worry. Her skin burned at the touch, she hissed and flinched away but the pain quickly changed to a subtle tingle of pleasure.
"I did not design the system for this," she coughed out.
This was not what she intended. A mate was never supposed to be an option for her. The system was being changed too much. This would throw off the balance of the order.
"Hello little mate," he said softly.
"Do I look little to you?" she glared at him.
She sighed. She didn't mean to be bitter towards him. Her mood was already soiled from her exhaustion. He narrowed his eyes at her.
"I'm sorry they treated you this way," he said. She scoffed.
"I expect nothing less from children," she shrugged and bit back a wince from her dislocated shoulder.
"Get the pack doctor, she need to be treated immediately," he ordered.
He picked her up, she grunted.
"You'll be okay," his voice was soft and close to her ear.
She shuddered at the bass of his voice. He took her into the large wooden mansion. The scent of freshly cooked food and cherries warped around her. The scent was interrupted by the smell of medicine and sanitizer. She opened her eyes as she was laid onto the stiff bed. She heard him talking to another person. A warm light enveloped her as she felt her wounds heal. She sat up as she shook away the light headedness.
"Mate," she heard him call for her. She sat up. She never met his eyes. She was still weak. She didn't have much more time.
She needed the poison to get out of her system. It was slowly killing her. She had a day or less left before it put her to sleep permanently.
"I need...," she coughed more black blood.
His eyes widened with worry.
"I need mercury, blue roses, river water and blood of a deer. If I don't, I'll-" she said tiredly.
"Is that an antidote? For what poison?" he asked her.
"T-Twilight Sul...phur," she said.
Her eyes drifted close.
"Hey, hey little mate. Wake up, you can't fall asleep, mate!" She heard him shout.
But the darkness came regardless.
