"Ahh Genesis, la mia colomba." My father says as he grabs my hand.

He leads me down and everyone somewhat turns to me, still continuing with their conversation.

Still no sight of Liam. He's always coming and going. Usually watching me from a distance.

"Your fiancé will be here soon along with his mother and father and two brothers." He says.

"Oh joy." I reply sarcastically.

"Do not fight in this meeting. All is riding on your behavior."He whispers.

I keep a straight face. This is ridiculous. Never has my father been such a suck up to these people.

Eventually he wanders off into his crowd and I stamper off as well.

I'm walking around until I feel a arm get throw around my shoulders

On instinct, I untwist and grab their arm and pull it behind their back, only to see Gabriel.

An old friend.

"What the hell Gabriel!" I push him back.

He laughs.

"You still have killer instincts." He remarks.

"And you still have an ass for a face." I joke.

He rolls his eyes and laughs.

"Haven't seen you around in a while chica." He says as he follows me through to the living room area.

"Yeah I've been busy." I say not facing him.

"Yeah getting married and all that shit." He says.

I chuckle.

"Pretty much." I reply as I sit down on the couch and cross my ankles femininely.

"So are you leaving this place?" He asks sitting down next to me.

He gestures his fingers around the room.

"I'm guessing. I don't know much about this marriage." I sigh.

He looks into my eyes. He was always fun to hang around until he got reassigned.

He's sitting fairly close to me now. I look away from him.

I always had the feeling he liked me in someway but never really had that confirmed.

"Well, I'm gonna miss you. It's gonna get pretty boring around here." He comments.

"It already is." I reply, looking back at him.

He's so close to me now practically nose touching.

I was always close with some of these men. They never understood me though. Not like Liam. I love Liam. He listens to me.

I'm caught up in my thoughts until I realize he's leaning in to kiss me.
