☃︎☃︎☃︎☃︎

It was Christmas Eve.

A month had passed since they had that important conversation.

Gabriel and Nathalie had finally started dating much for Adrien's happiness.

Nooro was back too and together with Duusu was busy helping with the house decorations.

The mansion would have hosted a Christmas party for Adrien and his friends and all the decorations had to be perfect.

Gabriel entered the room hand in hand with Nathalie.

"What do you think about those decorations master? Do you like them?" Nooro asked a bit embarrassed.

"Of course I like them Nooro! And please call me Gabriel not master"

Nooro nodded.

Duusu came flying all around the couple.

"I'm glad you like it!"

Nathalie smiled.

"Come on!" she said leading Gabriel into another room.

"Where are we going?"

"We should do our part too, you still have to buy Adrien his present"

Gabriel smiled.

"I already have one"

Nathalie looked at him.

"Oh, you do?"

Gabriel smiled.

"Yeah... it's in my room... Adrien doesn't have to see it before Christmas so I hid it..." he said a bit embarrassed.

He was nervous Adrien could have not liked it.

Nathalie was just glad to hear that Gabriel already thought about a present, he was usually so overwhelmed with work and his double life that she always had to remind him everything.

Even festivities or birthdays.

Those times were finally over.

Everything was fixed and everyone was a lot more relaxed than before.

No more miraculous and no more pointless wishes.

Nathalie smiled at Gabriel and threw her arms around him placing her head on his shoulder.

"I'm sure it's going to be a great present and Adrien will love it!" she reassured him.

The man placed his hand on her back and returned the hug.

Nathalie was always able to give him the confidence he didn't have.

"You are right, thank you Nathalie" he said.

He felt so lucky to have her at his side.

She had helped him and Adrien to overcome Emilie's loss and he was grateful for it.

Now he was able to go on and he didn't feel guilty anymore.

He was free to love Nathalie.

He was free to spend time with his son.

Nathalie explained him everything, every word Emilie had said to her.

He cried a lot but he was also happy, he was happy after a long time.

"Thank you for everything Emilie, I won't forget you..." he murmured.

"Did you get emotional over a present?" Nathalie asked.

She was looking at his teary eyes with a worried look.

"No... no... I was just thinking..." the man said wiping the tears away from his eyes and cheeks.

Nathalie smiled.

She understood but she decided not to talk about it.

It wasn't the right moment for it.

On Christmas morning Adrien was particularly excited because he got a lot of presents.

"Just the one I wanted!" the boy was saying as he opened the boxes.

Gabriel and Nathalie were looking at him smiling seeing the boy being so happy.

"It's beautiful Nathalie!" Adrien said as he was staring at a book with a fine brown cover and yellow pages.

"It's a notebook... you can write down everything you want"

Adrien got up and hugged her.

"Thank you I love it!"

Gabriel cleared his throat.

"I... uhm... I have got something for you too son..."

Gabriel handed him a bright red envelope.

The boy took it and opened it.

"Woah!" he said holding a soft warm white sweater with a red decoration on the collar and the wrists.

"I... I made it myself... I hope you like it Adrien" the man said a little embarrassed.

The boy smiled caressing the fabric.

"It's beautiful dad" he said looking at him.

Gabriel smiled back.

Dad.

"Glad you like it son"

The boy wrapped his arms around him and the man did the same.

Nathalie smiled at them.

It was a beautiful sight.

Everyone of them knew the best present of all was them being reunited and happy without secrets or fights.

Maybe all that strange experience had been useful to them.

Messing up with reality was pointless and only made them live in a fake world.

Gabriel may have been reunited with his wife, and she may have been a great adventurer but eventually they would have remembered and it would have been too late and they would have lived in a world they knew it was fake.

Nathalie knew none of them would have been truly happy.

The woman smiled joining father and son in a big family hug.

The end.
