Chapter 17

No one's POV

The sun was high in the sky with storm clouds on the horizon. The wolf village was preparing for the upcoming storm. 

And up on the hilltop the children could hardly contain their excitement. Mason and Summer were taking Max, Tullius, Lukas, Serena, and Lydia on a five day hunting trip. And since their other pups couldn't come they had asked around the village if someone could watch them. Wilson and Lucy said they would take care of Susan while Rachel and William stayed with Kai and Silver. 

The children had everything packed up and were now waiting to be picked up. While they waited Max, Summer, and Mason were sitting at the kitchen table preparing all their gear and seeing their pups excitement they couldn't help but smile.    

Mason's POV

Mason sat at the kitchen table tightening his bow string while Summer was sharpening her dagger and, Max was cleaning his rifle. Mason heard giggling and when he looked to the source he saw William and Rachel sitting near the door with their backpacks in front of them. 

William: " Ooo I can't wait to spend time with Kai and Silver!" He said in an excited tone. 

Rachel: "And I can't wait to play with Star." She said with a big smile.

Mason and Summer only giggled at their excitement. Then all of a sudden there was a knock on the door. 

William: "They are here!" He cried out in excitement.

Summer giggled more as she stood up and walked to the front door. She reached out and slowly opened the door revealing Kai and Sliver. Summer also noticed that Sliver was holding Star. Upon seeing her Star smiled and reached out to Summer. 

Summer's POV

Star: "AHH" She said with a smile while reaching for her. 

 Summer: "Well hello there little one how are you today." She said with a warm smile. 

Sliver: "She is very excited to spend the next few days with her cousins just as much as we are." 

Summer: "And thank you again for watching them." 

Kai: "Don't mention it I have always wanted to spend more time with them." He said with a smile. 

Just then William and Rachel walked up to the wolves with smiles on their faces. Once they saw them Summer stepped to the side and, Kai knelt down and spoke out.

Kai: " Well help there little pups are you all ready to go." He said with a smile on his face.

Rachel/William: " Yes alpha we are all set."

All the wolves couldn't help but smile at the children's actions. Following this William walked up to Silver and spoke out.

William: " Um Alpha Silver can I ask you something?" He said twiddling his thumbs.

Silver knelt down and when she did Star saw William and smiled and even reached for him.

Star: "Ahhh"

Silver: " What is it little one?" She said tilting her head.

William: " Well I was wondering if I could hold Star please." He said looking up at her.
