This story has been with me for several years.
What you are about to read is not simply a novel written in a short period of time, but a piece of my imagination that stayed hidden in old drafts, forgotten files, sleepless nights, and unfinished thoughts before finally finding its way here. Some parts of this story were written years ago, while others were revised and rebuilt as I continued to grow, both as a writer and as a person.
Because of that, this story carries different versions of me within its pages.
There are scenes written from youthful emotions, chapters shaped by heartbreak and healing, and moments revised with the lessons I learned over time. Instead of completely erasing the old versions of this story, I chose to preserve many of them because they represent the raw emotions and original soul that built this world from the very beginning.
This novel is imperfect, emotional, chaotic, and deeply personal to me.
Juan, My Commander is not only a story about war, loss, disasters, and survival. It is also a story about people carrying wounds they cannot easily explain. About grief that lingers quietly. About finding warmth in the middle of destruction. And about learning that surviving does not always mean remaining unharmed.
