Zephyr chuckled. "Because. Ga-Eun would never be associated with someone dumb or gullible. You should expect anyone sent by her to be quite intelligent and apparently, feisty."

"So, do I pursue more info? Or do you want me to ignore it?" Aydan looked over Zephyr's shoulder to the door before resuming his relaxed pose.

"Of course you should pursue it. I didn't want to give her the idea that every incident needed close inspection or she might have taken off on a suicide mission of her own. Bring me any details you can dig up. I refuse to let the Society have a hay day in my territory. Our peace is tenuous at best, but it must be respected. They know they must let me know first if any target is hiding in my territory. It is my privilege to deal with that target first. If this attack was, indeed, a personal target of theirs, I will most assuredly hold them responsible."

Aydan nodded and after receiving a firm pat on the shoulder from Zephyr, he left the room.

Jaci sat on her bed, knees pulled up to her chin. Her arms were hugging her legs and she stared straight aghead at the dull print on the wallpaper.

Her neck had been throbbing and she was feeling worse with each passing hour. Not to mention she was now thoroughly worried for Jungkook. After returning to her room, she had sent him several texts asking for him to contact her somehow, but they remained unanswered and unread. It only served to feed her anxiety and fear.

Jungkook, if you can hear me, please let me know you're okay.

Her eyes were tightly closed and she was concentrating as hard as she could. But she felt as if her thoughts were locked inside of her head, going nowhere and to no one.

Tears streamed down her face as her mind forced her to think of only the worst case scenarios, depriving her of much needed rest.

Sunny felt helpless. Jungkook's wounds, being vast in number and deadly in design, were not healing. Whatever the attacker had used to injure him was certainly laced with some kind of anti-healing substance, and who knows what else.

She dabbed the sweat from Jungkook's pale face, fearing for the worst but hoping for the best. His head tossed side to side and his brow furrowed deeply. Sunny's heart was breaking as she watched him suffering.

It was awful watching someone you cared about suffer in pain and agony, basically dying right before your eyes. But what was worse was knowing you could do very little to delay what was becoming more and more inevitable.

Taehyung had thrown on a coat and sped out of the hotel room at a speed she hadn't seen him move at in years. He was fully angry and enraged. She had no idea where he was headed, but she knew he could take care of himself. He had said something about Jiho so Sunny assumed he was probably headed there.

"Jaci...hear...you..."

Sunny looked at Jungkook with pity and sadness. He had been mumbling the same words over and over as he tossed his head nack and forth. Either he was hallucinating or dreaming, she wasn't sure. But what was so clear to Sunny was that Jungkook needed Jaci in his life, or what little life was left.

Taehyung wasted no time. He could smell Jiho all the way across the city, and so he followed the trail and in a matter of minutes he was banging on her apartment door.

He was impatient, however, and after giving her a courtesy moment, he used his strength and shoved the door off its hinges.

"Get out here, half-breed," he growled at the top of his lungs.
