We started walking home.
We walked to Matt's house and said goodbye, then I walked the rest of the way home alone.
I was silently dreading what would happen when I walked inside, so I was walking very slowly.
Sadly, eventually I got home.

I walked inside and tried to pass my mom who was sitting on the phone.
I failed.
She hung up the phone and slammed it down.
I tried to quickly walk to my room.
I once again failed.
"Julie! You get over here right now!" She yelled.
I took a deep breath before slowly walking over.
"Yes mom?" I asked quietly.
She was clearly extremely angry.
"I get home at midnight and all you've left is a message saying you'll be home late, and then you walk in here at 9 the next morning, acting like it's no big deal. Explain yourself right now!" She said loudly.
I took a deep breath.
"I'm sorry." I said softly.
"Where were you last night?!"
I shook my head.
"Nowhere important, it's no big deal."
She stood up.
"Were you with a boy?" She asked.
I nodded and then shook my head.
"Yes, but it's not what it seems like." I said quickly.
"You are 15! My daughter will not be going out, and staying overnight with a boy!" She yelled.
She slapped me across the face.
I felt a lump grow in my throat.
I shook my head.
"No. I promise. Nothing happened!"
She laughed.
"And you expect me to believe that?!
Listen. You are not allowed to be around Matt anymore." She said.
My heart dropped into my stomach.
"Why?!"
Her eyes turned darker and her voice was cold.
"Cause I will not allow my 15 year old daughter, to do these things. Or hang around cutters." She said.
My face went pale.
"How'd you know that?" I said.
"None of your business. Shame on you. I'm ashamed to have you as daughter. You've never had great grades, Lately You keep skipping school and now this?! This family has standards and you're a disgrace. get out of my house!"
She yelled.
I fought the urge to cry and instead just ran outside.
I picked up my phone and dialed Matt's number.
"Hello?" He said.
I took a shaky breath.
"I'm sorry for bothering you, can I please come over." I said crying.
"Yeah, absolutely, come right over, are you okay?" He said quickly.
I sniffed.
"I don't know." I said.
"It's alright, I'll see you soon, bye." He said.
"Bye." I whispered.
And then I hung up.
I opened my window and climbed out before running down the street to Matt's house.
It was a little bit chilly outside but I didn't care.
I had tears streaming down my face and I was shaking.
Eventually I got to his house.
I wiped off my face and took a deep breath before knocking.
A second later Matt answered the door.
He looked at me for a second before grabbing my hand.
"What happened?" He asked softly.
I took a deep breath trying not to cry.
"She- she-" I couldn't even talk.
He reached over and gently grabbed my face, turning my burning cheek toward him.
"Are you okay?" He asked with serious concern in his voice.
I nodded quickly, crying a little bit.
He wrapped an arm around me and walked me over to the couch before sitting down.
"I'm sorry..." He said softly.
I shook my head.
"It's not your fault."
I took a deep, shaky breath.
"I- I can't go back." I said almost in a whisper.
He pulled me closer to him.
"Julie, I need you to tell me what happened." He said quietly.
"You can't let it hurt you, ok?" I said.
He nodded.
"First of all she found out you, used to, you know." I said.
He frowned and nodded.
"She said she doesn't want me hanging around you anymore, because of that, skipping school, and- last night."
He nodded slowly.
"She got the wrong idea about last night, she thinks we um, did things a fifteen year old shouldn't be doing." I said awkwardly.
His eyes widened in shock.
"You mean..."
I nodded.
"Crap, I've never even kissed anybody but you, and that wasn't even on the lips." He said.
I shook my head.
"Me either."
He laughed.
"I've got a freakin' purity ring!" He said loudly.
I smiled a little.
He took a deep breath.
"Did you explain it to her?"
I nodded.
"I tried to. She didn't believe me."
He shook his head.
"Please tell me that's all." He said.
"Nope, she then said some very hurtful things to me, then told me to get out of her house."
His mouth dropped open.
"What are you gonna do?" He asked softly.
I took a deep breath.
"I don't know."
We both sat there think for a few minutes, until Matt finally broke the silence.
"You could always stay here..." He said.
I shook my head.
"I couldn't intrude like that."
He shook his head.
"You wouldn't be intruding, it'd be fine, I promise, please?"
I sighed.
"I don't know..."
"My mom will be home in a few minutes, we'll talk to her about it. She'll be fine with it. Just agree to it, ok?"
I took a deep breath and nodded.
He smiled and hugged me.
"Everything's gonna be just fine." He said.
I smiled.
"You promise?" I asked.
He nodded.
"I promise."
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
After a little while we heard his mom pull into the driveway.
She came to the door and Matt let her in.
"I need to talk to you mom." Matt said.
His mom nodded and walked into the living room.
May stood beside me and grabbed my hand.
"Julie has some problems at home right now, and I won't get into all the details, but she needs a place to stay right now... Is it alright if she stays here?" He asked.
His mom looked over at for a second before looking back at Matt and smiling.
"Of course she can. Julie sweetie, is everything alright?" She said.
I nodded.
"Yeah... It'll be ok. Thank you so much." I said.
She smiled.
"No problem. Matt, can you find her a place to sleep? Whatever y'all work out as long as y'all aren't sleeping together." She said.
Matt smiled.
"We're good kids mom, don't worry." Matt said.
She smiled.
"I know you are, just setting a few rules. You'll here the rest as the day goes on."
Matt rolled his eyes.
I laughed.
"Julie, you just call me Momma."
I laughed and nodded.
"Ok Momma."
She smiled.
"Good girl." She said.
Matt smiled.
"Well, this'll be interesting."
