Part 5: The Party

The next day before the party went by pretty fast, both Y/n and Steven excited to see each other again
Y/n's outfit changed so she was now sporting a flowing skirt which fell behind her and matching shoes. She still wore her old body suit underneath but the added components added a sense of fanciness that wasn't there before.
Steven however was conflicted on wearing a suit or a typical "diamond" esque outfit. He ended up wearing a pink suit with a darker jacket and a lighter inside.

Y/n arrived earlier to the party to help decorate before any other gems attended. Even though the gems who were already decorating insisted that you didn't help saying, "Oh no your clarity this isn't something you should trouble yourself with!" You didn't care, using some of your abilities to help move along the decorating process more efficient.

After a bit, gems started to arrive and not after long, each Diamond entered the room with their Pearls and courts. Y/n was standing in her position which was below White Diamond's throne, the place your old Diamond used to sit. You watched at more people arrived and soon so did Steven.
When he arrived you couldn't help but smile, for his first Diamond party he did wonderful. He smiled and waved to his court, he was well behaved and so forth. As Steven walked up to his throne, you couldn't help but blush a little.

He glanced over at you and noticed your flustered state, smirking at the sight of your nervousness.

"Good Evening Y/n." He said

"Good evening My Diamond." You said, bowing your head and saluting him. This action confused him as he told you to call him Steven
The party went on fine, even though it was a bit boring. Afterwards, the Diamonds said their goodbyes and made sure to praise Steven a little for a job well done. As you were walking back to your room, a voice calling your name made you stop and turn around. And of course, it was Steven.

He caught up with you and stood by your side, "Hey did you have fun at the party?"

"Eh it was ok." You shrugged. "In my opinion the parties are a bit boring. What about you?"

"Well I wanted to ask you why you addressed me as 'My Diamond', I thought I told you you could call me Steven."

Y/n looked down and started to walk, Steven following her. "In such a situation, calling you 'Steven' wouldn't be very acceptable. After all, you're...her, or rather her son."

Steven nodded, he understood your reasoning but was still a bit weirded out by it.

"Speaking of which," You asked, turning to him. "Why don't you want me to call you 'My Diamond'?"

"Well," He said uncomfortably, rubbing the back of his neck and looking away from your gaze. "I just don't wanna be like her, ya know? She did some pretty bad things regarding Earth and even her friends, I guess I just didn't want to be like her."

"Heh, I wouldn't want to be her either." You responded

"Were you hers?" He asked

"Excuse me?"

"Ya know, was she your Diamond?"

You laughed thinking this was a joke. But after you looked at him and realized he was serious you said, "No! I'm Black's creation."

He stopped confused, "Who's Black? Is she another gem?"

His questions almost made you poof yourself. Was he serious? Did he not know about Black Diamond and her shattering? That HIS mother is the one who did it?

After a minute, all Y/n could say is, "Oh my stars this is something you need to talk to the Diamonds about. But in the meantime I know you need your rest, so you best do it in the morning."

Even though Steven was confused and hesitant, he agreed and you both said your goodbyes for the night.
