CALISTA SAVAS

The sky became darker, and time went on. Three members were now gone, and it only agitated Calista more and more.

Her first concept was the writing on the wall,

"You'll burn for this."

Calista concluded that finding those ominous words when they did was a blessing in disguise because now- they could do something about it. Rick already had beaten her to that thought, however.

Rick, Sasha, and Tyreese had left not too long ago to look for one of the three missing members. That member being Bob, the one who had wandered out of the church - right in front of Calista's eyes.

"Hey," A familiar voice uttered, "You've been kind of quiet, what are you thinking about?"

Calista snapped out of her intrusive thoughts and peered at the boy. She couldn't help but wonder, how could he stay so calm? Especially in the scheme of things? Because truly, it was just about alarming to her.

"I-" She stuttered, "I hope that he's okay." And in all honesty, it was true. She couldn't bear to see someone in such a gruesome condition when she could've prevented it all from happening. If only she walked up to him, or asked him if he was okay.

"Who? Bob?" Carl asked, with an almost irk expression growing on his face.

Calista nodded, "I feel like I could've stopped him, I mean- the both of us saw him walk over to the door." Carl squinted his eyes at her remorseful statement.

"What? Calista, you can't put this on us."

His voice was snappy, and his tone was sour. "Things like this happen a lot, so you're going to have to get used to it if you want to survive."

Want to survive.

Calista told herself every day to keep going if she wanted to survive, but did she really want to? Frankly, surviving in this grisly world gradually became more exhausting, and more intolerable.

Calista refrained from replying to him, realizing that it wasn't worth it. Clearly, Carl was growing irritated by the girl's pitiful dialects. This was a side of the boy that Calista had yet to see, hastily discovering how unpleasant it really was.
