Chapter 2: Why Does This Always Happen To Me

Jason was pacing back and forth in front of the big house why did stuff like this always happen to him his parents were talking to Chiron in the big house and Festas was in bunker nine. Emily was standing still beside him not sure what she should say to him when Michael came running up the hill towards them his blonde hair falling into his blue eyes.

"Is Avila alright" Emily asked her curly brown hair bouncing as she moved her head and her golden eyes were filled with concern "yeah shadow travel just over extended her" Michael answered. "Thank you for coming I just needed you guys here after what happened" Jason managed to get out Michael and Emily stared at with worry "Jason..." Michael trailed off.

The reason Michael had stopped talking was because at the moment an all too familiar black Pegasus landed on the hill 'Blackjack' Jason thought too people dismounted from the Pegasus. The first was a ten year old boy with blonde hair and cold calculating grey eyes the second he immediately recognized "Sam" she'd gotten taller so she was just a few inches taller than him.

Her stormy grey eyes caught sight of him and she started running towards him her jet black hair flying behind her she reached him and gave him a bone crushing hug which he immediately reciprocated. For a moment Jason felt peace as Sam's arms were wrapped around him with his face pressed into her shoulder and her's in his, her being there immediately calmed him like nothing was wrong and like they were just walking down the beach together.

"Ahem" Michael coughed "don't we get hugs too" Emily asked Sam's face broke into a grin her smile bright as a full moon "of course you do" she answered giving them each a hug. "Where's Avila" Sam asked looking for the dark haired girl "infirmary" Michael said the same way someone might say the bathroom Sam looked worried to say the least "what happened"

"We shadow traveled from Texas to San Francisco to pick up Emily then to camp half blood way too much for one day she'll be fine though after she gets some rest" Michael answered "yeah also what happened to you and is that your brother" Emily asked. Jason hadn't noticed till Emily had pointed it out but parts of Sam's and the boy's clothes and hair were slightly singed "exploded our cafeteria" she answered like this was normal.

"What don't look at me he built the bomb" Sam said pointing at her brother "you said we needed fire to kill the hydra I got you fire" the boy deadpanned Sam looked like she wanted to strangle him. "Guys this is Luke, my little brother" she announced Luke looked him up and down with cold grey eyes as if to plan how to kill him and get rid of his body.

"This is your boyfriend" Luke replied Jason and Sam both turned bright red Emily snickered and Michael started laughing at them "we're just friends" they both answered at the same time "sure" Luke said dragging it out. Then someone walked out of the big house, it was Paige Collins head counsellor for cabin six she looked just all the other kids in cabin six blonde hair and grey eyes "hey Jason Chiron told me to tell you that the decision is going to be made at campfire tonight.

'Perfect, now everyone will know how bad I screwed up' he thought "Paige, perfect timing" Sam said "this is my brother Luke I thought maybe you might want to show him around and have him in your cabin" Sam said. Paige's face broke into a grin all there parents were camp legends so them getting Luke was a big deal for cabin six "yup let's go" she answered dragging Luke away before Sam could change her mind.

"So what is the big emergency that I blew up a cafeteria for" Sam asked Emily and Michael shared a look "hey Michael we should probably check on Avila right" Emily suggested "yeah let's do that" he answered as the two of them backed away. 'Real subtle guy's' Jason thought "you should probably drop off your bag in cabin three I'll explain on the way" Jason told her the two of them walked up the hill together.

"Jason are you alright" Sam asked as they were walking Jason sighed "after last summer when Festas was damaged in our landing me and Alex worked all year repairing him together. The last day of school we were walking home to do final repairs and out of the blue me and Alex got attacked by Khione snow giants, they encased me completely in ice and kidnapped Alex they just took her and I couldn't do a damn thing".

"Jason I'm sure you did everything you could" Sam reassured him Jason sighed he and Sam walked into cabin three she set down her slightly singed backpack on her bunk "Sam you can't bring your boyfriend in here" Arron announced. Arron the newly appointed fourteen year old counsellor of cabin three he had jet black hair and intense dark blue eyes and sitting on one of the other beds was Polly the only other kid in the cabin the five year old girl had long blonde hair and seaweed green eyes.

"Jason is not my boyfriend Arron so shove off" Sam answered Arron didn't seem like a person you should mess with but neither was Sam he'd seen Sam in a fight and Jason would bet on her every single time. Polly let out a giggle Arron rolled his eyes at Sam "could you not question my leadership in front of the five year old" "your only leader till Sasha comes back" Polly answered the room went silent.

Arron went over to Polly his face softened "Polly we talked about this Sasha isn't coming back she doesn't want to be here anymore" Arron explained Polly looked kinda down Sam's face had turned white. Jason put his hand on her shoulder "you wanna get out of here" he asked she nodded they walked out of cabin three together.
