Jonah took us out for a late lunch at a lovely, fancy restaurant. I tried to enjoy my time but I couldn't shake the paranoia of thinking someone was after me.

My head kept spinning and my eyes kept scanning the room, looking for anyone with blonde hair and blue eyes.

"Y/n, what's going on? You've been freaking out since we got here" Jonah placed his fork down, reaching across the table to grab my hand.

I placed my fork down, realizing I hadn't eaten any of my food, I had just been pushing it around. I was too focused on everything else.

If Jonah and I were out like that, would they even bother hurting me? They only wanted me to get to Jonah, so would they just go straight to hurting him? I didn't care if they hurt me, Jonah's life would always be more valuable than mine

"I'm just scared she'll pop out of nowhere and hurt one of us" I looked down at our hands as Jonah lightly rubbed his thumb across the back of my hand.

"Do you see the table over there with the two men? Both in black suits, one is bald, the other has glasses"

I looked up at Jonah, seeing his eyes towards the left side of the restaurant. I followed his gaze seeing the two gentleman just sitting at the table drinking water, not really speaking

"Those guys are two of our men from our security team, they were assigned to watch you since the incident at the hotel. So if I'm not there, you'll have them to protect you. They'll stay out of your way but they'll always have you in their sight" Jonah pulled up my hand, leaving a light kiss on the back

"Will they be in the house?" I glanced back at the two men. They had been following me around for weeks now and I never noticed. I guess they were good at their job

"No, but they'll be parked outside. I hope you understand why I did this, I don't want you paranoid like you are now, I just want to make sure you're safe" I looked back to Jonah as he was giving me a hopeful smile

"Do you have security following you?" If I have some, he must had some too

"What? No" Jonah chuckled. "I can take care of myself"

"And what makes you think I can't take care of myself?" I bluffed, pulling my hand back

"Can you?" Jonah crossed his arms over his chest, giving me a playful smirk

"I guess we'll never know now" I shrugged

"I can dismiss them, so if someone comes you can show me what you got" He knew I couldn't, he just wanted me to admit it

"Fine, go ahead" But I didn't back down

"Alright" Jonah pulled out his phone, typing away before he placed his phone back on the table.

I looked around seeing the two security get up from the table, throwing some money down on the table and walked out of the restaurant.

My heart started pumping faster as I realized what I did. I was screwed. I couldn't defend myself, I'd be dead in seconds if something actually happened.

I looked back at Jonah as my palms got sweaty. He smiled as a low chuckle left his lips.

"You okay? You look nervous" No kidding

"Can you bring them back? I'm not comfortable now that they're gone"

"But I thought you said you'd be good by yourself?" Why was he being such an asshole right now?

"Well I'm not and you know that, so can you just bring them back?" Anger started to take over the fear I once had

"Hey, it's okay doll face, I just told them to wait in the car. I'm sorry" Jonah's face softened as I probably looked like I was about to burst into tears

"I'll never let anything happen to you again, okay? I'll always protect you, to the best of my abilities"

My free hand reaches for my J.M. necklace when I remember the officers removed all my jewelry before I was placed here.

I let a smile appear on my face just as fast as I force it to leave.

I look up at Chambers, seeing him already staring at me

"What?" I growl

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, let's move on" I'm probably never getting that necklace back
