Oki so this is set back when the marauders were chaotic Hogwarts students :)
I stare up at the ceiling, my mind is blank. I feel the heat of the dying embers in the nearby fire place, they warm the side of my face. My arm hangs loosely from the arm of the sofa, fingertips touching the soft carpeted floor. A sea of crumbs and dust float through the currents of worn fabric like laces of sea foam. The turning of a page echoes from across the room. No one has spoken in a while and no one feels the need to. The silence is comfortable, unbroken and calm. A few coughs echoed throughout the common room every once in a while and then the quiet settles back in again.
It's late in the evening, a cool wind blows softly through the open window to my right making the red curtains twist and turn slowly. I close my eyes and take a deep breath.
'We're backkkk!' I hear a voice shout out as the door swings open. A series of grumbles and ughs follow soon after.
I turn my head ever so slightly to look at the disgruntled group of boys.
Peter clings onto James' shoulder, head hung low. As they manage to shuffle through the entrance another voice rings through the room.
'Hey losers, did you miss meee.' Sirius gargles out, slurring his words as he also makes his way into the now much louder room. Another series of shh's and irritated mumbles follow as he flops onto the nearest chair.
The last marauder to make their way into the room is Remus, a light blush coating his face as heads turn to look at him, annoyance apparent on their faces. He scans the room for a moment before his eyes settle on me, his expression reads a clear 'please don't kill me' as he shoves his hands into his coat pockets like a guilty child. He sits down on the carpet in front of me and utters out a few excuses.
'I'm really sorry I'm late y/n, James kept ordering more butterbeers and Sirius ran off somewhere and then Pete-'
'It's ok Remus, I'm not angry with you.' I deadpan, sitting upright on the soft cushions.
He sat there for a while before looking up at me again. 'How can I make it up to you?' His expression is innocent and sincere. I think for a minute before answering, pondering on what to do. I soon came to a rather evil conclusion.
'Chocolate'. He looks confused.
'I want you to share your chocolate from now on.' I say, feigning a serious tone. Soon the look of confusion is replaced with one of horror.
'Well I- If you really want me to then I.. Really?' He rambles out.
I can't help it, with the look on his face I can't help but start to laugh.
'I'm only joking you weirdo.' I smile down at him, placing a quick kiss onto his still worried face.
