his eyes seemed to light up, nodding slightly as you made a confused face but nonetheless; diced him up some tomatoes.

"your favorite food.. is tomatoes?" you ask, raising an eyebrow at the smaller boy who nodded.

you opened your mouth to speak but sighed and shook it off as you went back into the kitchen to make you something to eat as well.

"thank you n/n-nee." he exclaimed softly, barely above a whisper yet you still heard it. you did a small victory dance at finally getting through to the boy before throwing your arm around his shoulder.

"call me mom, you're stuck with me for the rest of your life after all." you beamed, the boy hesitantly leaning into your embrace.

"okay... thank you, mom."

"old man!" you beam, walking in with your, now, 9 year old boy. "i'm of legal age."

hiruzen rolled his eyes as he grabbed a stack of adoption papers, since he knew you'd come in the day of your birthday.

"8:30 hasn't even hit, yet you're still here signing... adoption papers?" kakashi teased, raising an eyebrow as he stood behind you to read the papers.

"yes, i legally have a kid now!" you smiled brightly at the stoic boy. he rolled his eyes before picking up his missions from the hokage & leaving.

"who knew adoption was so many papers." you mumbled to yourself after moving the 10th paper you've signed over.

after about another 10 minutes standing with your back bent to sign papers, you finished. you cracked your now aching back before looking at lord third who nodded with a short smile.

"congratulations."

you beamed at your amazing 12 year old son after going through memories with him when he was a kid. he groaned at the embarrassingly cringey moment of him calling you mom for the first time before sighing.

"you're embarrassing." he mumbles to himself, squinting his eyes at you before you gently hit the top of his head. he made an 'ow!' noise before rubbing it as you yawned.

"why're you up? cant sleep?" you ask, realizing sasuke had been in your room for almost 3 hours now.

he shrugged, laying back down on your bed. you blinked repeatedly, trying to figure out what he was up too before pulling his ear.

"ow!" he scoffed slightly before wincing at the tight grip you had on his ear.

"what did you do?" you scoff, activating your sharingan accidentally which sent a shiver down his spine.

"nothing! i just wanted to sleep in here." he mumbled, hitting your hand away from his ear.

your gaze softened before you engulfed your kid in a smothering hug; him trying to push you away with the best of his ability while muttering about how he couldn't breathe and how embarrassing you were.

you were out of breath when you finally got to the end of the hospital hallway; only to see your old friend who's caused so much trauma to your families name pinning your son to a wall and almost choking him to death.

you sighed as you shook slightly, almost paralyzed with fear. if he could take down your whole clan at 14, what could he do now?

you watched as he dropped sasuke before leaving the hospital slowly- his shark friend following behind.

do something. you thought over and over again. you grabbed a kunai from your leg pouch before stabbing one of your legs. pain shot through your body as you were finally able to move again.

you quickly ran after itachi, his friend muttering a small 'should i kill her?' before itachi softly shook his head.

when you got close enough, before you could even start a fight, he poked your head with his fingers. he smiled softly at you as you stared in shock.

"thank you." was all he said before he walked away.

"mom. wake up." sasuke scoffed, shaking you slightly before you turned over and waved him off. "i guess you don't wanna go get dango's with me." he stated, rolling his eyes at how fast you shot up.

sometimes, he wondered who was the kid and who was the adult.

"okay! ready?" you ask, clapping your hands together as you walked towards the door.

"why did i even agree to do this?" he groaned, throwing his head back as you both walked down the street.

"because i'm your mom, and ya love me." you beamed, pulling the boys cheek as he just groaned softly.

"i guess." he mumbled, before grabbing your hand and intertwined your fingers. tears filled your eyes as your looked at the boy before he rolled his own dark irises.

"stop making that face or i'm walking back home."

"stop frowning." sasuke scoffed lightly as he looked down at you. you laid on the ground, absolutely distraught at how you lost to your own son in taijutsu.

"hey, are you even listening to me?" he exclaimed, pulling at one your s/t cheeks before you slapped his hand away.

"you-you cheated!" you exclaimed, crossing your arms as you pouted.

"yeah right, you just suck." he boasted, giving you a teasing smirk as you gasped.

"you take that back, sasuke uchiha!" you exclaimed, pointing at finger at the boy who lightly laughed. you smiled shortly at the moment before standing up.

"one more go; crush the competition." you exclaimed, holding out your hand for the unison sign.

"forever & always." he nodded, finishing the sign.

you sighed, your leg bouncing anxiously in hope for good news. you continued to read over the small note sasuke left for you before he left.

that's all you had of him now.

before you could cry once more, your friends showed up out of thin air. genma hugged you from behind as you both sat on the bed, kakashi standing in front of you, and kurenai & asuma sitting beside you on the floor.

"sorry n/n.." asuma started, "nothing yet."

you could only nod, clenching the note tighter in your hand as you accidentally activated your sharingan- the crimson noise bouncing around the room and ringing in your friends ears.

"he went to orochimaru." you muttered quietly. "i'll kill him if he hurts my kid."

kakashi nodded at genma before the brown haired boy sighed. he shushed you slightly as he put you in a headlock; choking you only enough to make you pass out.

"shh, this hurts us more than it hurts you." he whispered before laying you down in bed, hoping when you wake up you'll just think it was a bad dream.

"we've gotta do something before she goes insane." kurenai hummed, looking at you and moving some of your hair away from your face.

"in her defense, if it was your kid; you'd go crazy too." kakashi exclaimed, grabbing the note that laid limp in your hand before reading it himself.
