Chapter 16

Ah!! I shouldn't have drunk that much last night. I get a really bad headache. I try to think about what happened last night. But as I got my memories back my face got paler. Shit! I screwed up everything.

I take my phone out and call Rahul" Why are you waking me up on a Sunday morning?"I hear Rahul's groggy voice."I might or might not have told Meera that you have a girlfriend."I tell him. I don't hear anything. From his side. The call is cut off. What is wrong with him? I try to call again. But he doesn't lift.

I slowly come out of my bed head to the washroom and freshen up. As I get down the stairs all freshened up. I hear the doorbell ring. I go and open it only to find Rahul pouncing on me to catch my collar.

"It was freaking you! Because of you, she didn't come to my home this morning."He tells me."She didn't lift my calls and for the first time ever she messaged me without an emoji!"He was fuming with anger.

"I was drunk! Am sorry."I tell him."If you were drunk you could have called me Why did you call Meera?"He asks me."I tried calling you But I called Meera because I was drunk."I try to reason again."I don't want your stupid reasons. I want to go back to the time when Meera texted me properly. She is only giving short replies. She told me only ttyl. She never ever uses that!."He was freaking out.

Just then my sister decides to come in."Hi Rahul. Wanna grab breakfast?"She asks casually."No! Di I would love to grab Sharath's head and rip it off with my bear hands."He shouts looking at me as if ready to do it any time now.

"Why what did he do?"My sister asks coming out from the kitchen and stands beside me."He told Meera out of all people I have a girlfriend. Now she is not talking to me properly."He frowns.

My sister hits my head."God, when will you stop hitting me."I wince in pain."Till your brain works properly. So the answer is never."She tells me."But I was drunk."I try to reason. But she hits me again."That's another mistake."She tells me

"Lets us just go and meet her at the hospital,"I tell him. He nods at my statement. In a few minutes, we reach the hospital. We go to the reception ."How may I help you?"The guy asks.

"We are searching for Doctor Meera Raghavan from the pediatric wing."Rahul tells him."Just a moment ."The guy says and dials a number. After few minutes "Meera will be here in 5 minutes. Please wait there ."He tells us pointing towards a few chairs. We nod and go sit there.

As he said Meera came down" Is something wrong? Is Anu here? Is everything fine" She asks in a panic."No calm down first."Rahul says to her and she breaths out a few puffs of air."Sharath are you fine? You were drunk yesterday."She asks directed to me."Yeah, I am fine. I was badly drunk yesterday."I tell her.

I see her eyes they were puffed and red as if she cried."Yeah, u were." She chuckles."Whatever he told was a lie!"Rahul tells her."What?"She asks."I was drunk and I told you that he has a girlfriend. It's a lie."I tell her.

She chuckles at my statement."You guys came till here to tell me that?"She asks."Yes! I don't have a girlfriend."Rahul says catching her shoulders."It's Okay Rahul. Even if you had a girlfriend I wouldn't mind. It's your life you can do anything you want. I just felt bad that you didn't tell me. I thought we were friends."Did she just friend zone him? I see the heartbreak in Rahul's eye."Yeah! We are ....friends um that's why I came to tell you I don't have a girlfriend."He tells her with a fake smile.

After a few minutes of convincing her." I think I need to go. I will text you guys later." saying that she went inside and we came out."She friend-zoned me."Rahul said." yeah she did."I tell him."It's not helping!"He shouts.

"Yeah! But that's the truth."I tell him. He nods."But I love her. So much."He tells me."I think she likes you too."I tell him."Cant you see! She friend-zoned me."He shouts at me again. I look at him  with all seriousness."You might come out of the friendzone."I try to tell him but He looks at me with all seriousness."Has any guy ever come out from friendzone? You are seriously joking now."He tells me."Let time give you the answer." I tell him. He was tearing up a bit. With no words, he walks away.

I really hope I didn't sabotage their relationship. Please! Let this ship sail.
