"Phin, guess what..." Julia dragged out into her mic. She was laying back in her chair and staring out the window into the rain. The weather pattern was unusual, raining about 5 days in a row.
"What, J?" Phin's clicking intenified.
"I made a new friend."
"How did you meet them?"
"Online, where else?"
"Ah."
He didn't seem amused and went back to his game. He was hosting a silent stream where the viewers couldn't hear his voice even if he started talking.
"What's up with you?"
"Nothin'."
Julia's phone started ringing from across the room. Perfect distraction.
"I'll be right back."
"Mhm."
She muted her headset and placed it, gently, onto her chair. She dashed over to the phone to find Noah repetitively calling her.
"Hey, Noah!"
"Hey, Jules. I wanted to ask you something..." He trailed quietly into the phone no. Julia could tell something was bothering him. Towering over him.
"Shoot."
"Do you wanna go on a date? Like not boyfriend girlfriend anything just a little date."
"Uh sure!" Julia shouted without consideration. She immediately mentally-face slapped herself.
"Cool! I'll pick you up tomorrow around 2 for lunch? We can go back to my place for a little."He sounded calm now, the nervousness in his voice gone. He genuinely seemed excited.
"Sure-" Noah ended the call.
Julia slipped over to her desk, shut her pc off, and dropped on the bed. She whined.
Why in hell would she do that? She wasn't ready to date anybody, even if it's her biggest crush. She needed a break from carrying the title of the "relationship" anyways. She needed to talk to somebody. She needed a friend.
Henna didn't seem like the person to go to, maybe Alissa? Probably busy. She didn't have any strong online friendships, only the ILikeToDream guy.
