"TALIA! BESTIE!" I shouted when I saw my best friend again after two months because we had a summer break and we are already in our 9th grade. Imagine we became best friends since 8th grade unexpectedly because I did something ridiculous during my first school day. Ugh, I do not want to recall.

"Ganda naman ng glow up, Bestie ah!" my best friend is teasing me again! I hate when she teases me.

"Nang-aasar ka nanaman! Ano ba, hindi pa ako nagkakaroon ng glow up! Manahimik ka nga kasi ang lakas ng boses mo at nasa hallway tayo." I replied to her while pinching her chubby cheeks so hard. I stopped pinching her cheeks and ran away because I know that she will do the same to me.

When I reached our classroom first, I waited for her to go inside together, but when she approached me, she quickly pinched my cheeks so hard, making them so red.

I sat beside my best friend's seat because we wanted to help each other out when in need and have easy access. I am preparing my literature book since our class will start soon, and I am reading in advance since there might be a surprise graded recitation again.

After an hour, my literature class is done, and it is our recess already.

"Pupunta ka ba sa canteen?" I asked my best friend so that we can both go down together.

"Oo, sama ka?" she asked me.

"Sama ako. Wala akong kasama dito sa classroom at bawal rin kumain dito." I answered her question, and we went outside the classroom.

"Ano ba bibilhin mo?" I asked her while we are going down the stairs.

Ikaw ba? May bibilhin ka ba?" Akala ko bibili siya ng pagkain na may rice pero hindi pala. Wala naman akong bibilhin kasi nag-iipon ako and may baon naman ako kaya ayun.

"Wala naman kasi nag-iipon ako." I answered her question.

I am currently observing my surroundings, and someone caught my attention.

"Psst. Talia..." I whispered to my best friend and poked her back lightly.

"Bakit?" she whispered back at me while scanning my whole face to understand what is on my mind.

"Sino yung matangkad na kausap nina Felix? Ang pogi at ang linis niya pang tignan!" I whispered to her because someone might hear me and they might expose me! If that happens, I will avoid that person at all costs!

"Ah, si Raphael Bautista yan. Section Bautista and palaging nasa rank yan. Running as Class president ata siya ngayon ulit eh. Ang pogi noh? Ang tangkad pa." she told me while secretly looking at their side. I cannot deal with this guy! Ah, ang pangalan niya pala Raphael. Oh my gosh, I think crush ko siya!

Crush at first sight." I told her jokingly, but deep inside, I still cannot get over his looks. He looked like a prince, for goodness' sake! My estimated height for him is probably 5'9", prince-like hairstyle, fair skin, and an innocent-looking face. He has a chiseled jawline and a pointed nose. He is also friendly around his friends, and he smiles a lot. He is a total package! Sana all ay kaclose sa kanya at baka–

"Ms. Flores?" I went back to my senses when my Filipino teacher called my surname.

"Yes po, Ms. Torres?" I immediately answered her because she might scold me that I am not listening during her discussions.

"Ano-ano ang mga panitikang asyano? Magbigay ng tatlo" she asked me.

"The tale of Genji ni Murasaki Shikibu, Tao Te Ching ni Lao Tzu at The Epic Of Gilgamesh," I answered her question confidently. Buti na lang at nagreview ako!
