Those blue eyes seem to darken further; it was clear that the omega was not pleased about something but Chan knew better than to pry. Felix only shares what he wants to.
"I'm..." he trails, fiddling his fingers awkwardly at the lack of attention he was receiving, "I'm really sorry that things like this keep happening to you and that... I wasn't there again to stop it-"
"You knew."
The gray and white hybrid stops, once again caught off guard by the unexpectedly deep voice coming from such a sweet face (and the fact that Chan isn't used to a verbal interruption to his rambling). "K-Knew what?"
No reply, just a flick of a wrist in a vague gesture.
"Knew that the village would be attacked?"
The silvernette's eyes narrow and Chan realizes his small slip up: they were never informed of what happened, just that something did happen from the state the two were in upon their arrival. The alpha swallows. "I... Yes, I had a hunch that ferals would attack soon." At the continued silence he is met with, he continues to the dig the hole he has fallen in a little deeper, "The Exo pack warned me of an oncoming turf war and-"
"Secret."
Chan backtracks once again. "Huh?"
The silvernette's left hand curls into a fist but he does not repeat the word aloud; he was going to make the other really think about his actions, really have to work to decipher the replies (spite is a dangerous emotion, especially when Felix has the ability to make this conversation easier for him or a lot harder ).
Secrets... Did he know that Chan accidentally revealed his secret to the village? Or did he mean somebody else's secret? Did he think the turf war was a secret? ...Exo's secret? Do they have secrets? Well, surely they do; everybody does-
As if Felix knew he was overthinking it, the omega growls, "Didn't tell me."
Oh . His secret. He, in fact, did not tell him about... a lot of things. "I... didn't inform you about the ferals because there was no guarantee that they would invade and I didn't want to worry you-"
"No. You lied."
When Chan is sunk into further confusion, Felix's brow begins to furrow in anger. "You knew war and- and you used my secret so I- I would leave with you."
So he meant both secrets; that's even worse. And Felix has got it all wrong. "I just wanted to protect you, Lix, and I knew that you wouldn't want to leave the village to their fate if they were attacked; that's why I kept it a secret. Telling that kid that you were a werewolf was entirely an accident!"
The silvernette shook his head, eyes on the fire turning glassy but continuing to not look at Chan as if the mere sight of him would make the omega completely lose his composure. "Liked my life," Felix mumbles, "Liked it too much to leave; you ruin life so I join pack."
"No, no it's not like that!" Chan exclaimed frantically, hands planting firmly onto the couch to keep him from reaching out to the omega, "I knew you didn't want to leave and I didn't want to force you; I was worried about the ferals and about the people that would hurt you but I would never wish for any of that stuff to happen. I would never ruin your life so you'd have no one except me to turn to! I'm not- I'm not a monster -"
The silver hybrid hums in agreeal. "Not monster. Just greedy alpha."
"G-Greedy?"
"I don't matter. Alpha wants, alpha gets." The tear barely makes it down Felix's face before he is furiously swiping it away and Chan feels a pain reverberate through his chest. "Not friends."
