Felix sighs, placing a hand over Chan's and squeezing lightly. His eyes are sparkling with trust and something else much deeper, much more foreign and new, that makes the alpha's heart pound. It looks as if the omega was conveying with just a simple look 'at least I have you' and that makes the pounding all the more painful.
He's not scared, he wasn't lying about that; he knows he'll be fine and his pack will be fine and most of the people in this village (even with the threat of ferals) will be fine. He's just terrified for Felix and he would be a lot more assured if he was somewhere that he could keep a much closer eye on.
He supposes that it is time to breach the forbidden topic that he has been pushing off for weeks on end. And despite facing pressures from both species now, Chan knows that whether humans or other wolves decide to attack, Felix will be safest at the pack house. Turf wars and Anti-Werewolf riots aside, he knows that convincing the omega to leave will be a challenge in itself.
"You know, now that your sling is coming off in a few days, maybe it would be good to stay at the pack house for a little while..." He suggests softly, a timid hopefulness creeps into his tone, "At least until things cool down."
Felix cocks a brow, a purse to his lips in a non-verbalized 'Why?'
"W-Well, it would be beneficial to meet other werewolves eventually right? And- And since people know your secret now, maybe it would be best to start thinking about joining a pack..."
The silvernette gives a slow and rather suspicious nod in following but not quite agreement. 'Your pack?'
He adjusts his shoulders a few times, becoming slightly warm and uncomfortable under the already examining gaze. "Well, yeah: you already know me, I know you. All I'm saying is that you might need a place to stay and our doors are always-"
Shooting him a glare, Felix mouths, 'Open?'
"Y-Yes, I know I repeat myself... I just- I just really want you to..."
He receives another raised brow in return.
"I... I want you to live with me, to join my pack."
The omega's jaw clenches, giving him a sympathetic look but ultimately shaking his head as he gestures to the area around him.
Always so stubborn and adamant about not abandoning these people who already clearly abandoned him. Chan huffs a breath, a mix of exasperation and exhaustion.
"I know, I know: this is your home, you don't want to give it up. But... But werewolves just don't belong here- living with humans- in this town. Our place is the woods, it's the land, it's the freedom of ostracization."
Felix scowls and normally, (the polite thing to do) he would wait for the omega to piece together his words and have a chance to display a reply but this time Chan's mind is already running a mile a minute, his mouth already moving to continue as he lightly grips the other's hand.
"You would be so much happier with your own kind," he says, adding as a punctuated after-thought, " We all are." If he has remembered one thing from his youth, it would be that he really liked the word 'we' for it emphasized that you are part of the group or you are outcasted from the group; it's the little things that can make a person feel less lonely when you know for a fact that you are indeed included. "Us wolves gotta stick together because, in the end, humans are despicable. You don't belong living in this village. Look at what happened when they discovered your secret even after all the good you have done for them."
Felix tries to pull his hand away, mouth opening in obvious dismay and Chan only keeps going like an idiot because the more resistance he is being faced with, the more desperate he is for the omega's agreeal. Why can't Felix understand? Why won't he just listen? Why is he still choosing them over his own kind? Humans over his soulmate ?
