Alex entered the Starbucks where he was meeting up with Penny. It was the final day of the convention, and he had some time before he had to get back for an autograph session with the rest of the cast. He got in line to order, taking out his phone and scrolling through some more of the comments on the video he had posted of Penny's song.
"I'd like a vanilla sweet cream cold brew, please."
Alex looked up in surprise at the voice. He would know that voice anywhere, and that order was ingrained in his psyche just like Penny's order was.
"Aubrey?"
The blonde turned, eyes lighting up in recognition when she saw him.
"Alex! Oh my God!"
"W-what are you doing here?" Alex stammered. "I thought you were in LA."
"I was, but a little birdy told me you were on some show that was filming her in Vancouver and I thought I'd stop by," Aubrey smiled.
"You... came here for me?"
"Yeah. I mean, I realized how stupid I was for breaking up with you and wanted to make things right."
Alex stared at his ex-girlfriend, dumbfounded. He hadn't seen Aubrey in a solid three years and now all of a sudden she showed up wanting to get back together? Right after he had gotten with Penny? It seemed just a bit too coincidental for his liking. Aubrey took a step closer to him, one hand holding her drink.
"Aubrey, I-"
He was cut off as the blonde pressed her lips to his. He shoved her away, breathing heavily. Deciding that he didn't really feel like coffee anymore and planning on texting Penny to let her know, he turned toward the door and then stopped in his tracks. Penny was standing there, tears brimming in her eyes as she stared at him. Neither said a word for a few moments, and then she turned on her heel, high tailing it out of the shop.
