Miguel, Eli, Aisha, Bert, and I waited outside where the all Valley was supposed to be held. Miguel 'practiced' as we waited. "Yo Miguel, calm down man. Save it for the tournament" Eli said looking over at him.

Miguel glanced at him before starting again. "Hey. Don't even bother, he's been like that ever since the break-up" Aisha rolled her eyes. "Where's sensei? The tournament is gonna start soon." Eli asked.

"He'll be here" Aisha reassured. "I don't know about that" Bert spoke up. "What do you mean?" Aisha asked "I saw him last night at the mini-mall. I was buying...a-a carton of milk. When I heard him in the parking lot yelling" Bert explained.

"Dude why didn't you say anything?" I asked him "I don't know, I'm so used to seeing him drunk it didn't seem like that big of a deal," Bert said honestly.

" We're here and he's not. So it's officially a big deal. What if something happened to him?" Eli looked down at Bert. "Like what?"

"I don't know—like he drove his car off a cliff or he bought a gun a blew his brains out" Eli spat out possibilities. "No. sensei wouldn't kill himself. Too pussy a move" Aisha insisted. "well, we're here. We're gonna have to do it without him" I said after.

"Do what without me?" A voice spoke from
Behind us. We turned around to see Sensei walking up to us. "We didn't think you were gonna show up," Eli said. "I may not always win but I never back out of a fight," Sensei informed. "Great. Let's sign up" Miguel said eagerly.

"Not yet. There's one more lesson I have to teach you" Sensei said before walking inside the Arena.

I glanced at Eli who only shrugged before following after sensei.  After that, we all went inside and got in a circle. Sensei began giving us a talk about our last 'lesson'. No mercy. After he finished Miguel shouted out of the blue "COBRA KAI!" everyone began shouting 'yeahs'. Miguel took out his White Gi to get changed only to be stoped by Sensei.

"I've got something better" Sensei spoke before pulling out a black and yellow Gi out of his backpack. "Woah...that looks..." I gasped "badass" Eli finished my sentence.
We stared in awe at the new Gi. "Go get dressed nerds" Sensei tossed us our new uniforms. "Here, I got you two an undershirt" Sensei handed Aisha and I a black long sleeve shirt.

"Thanks," we both said before heading to the girl's dressing room. I made my way inside and found a place to change. I put my normal clothes in my backpack and put my hair up in a ponytail/bun then headed out. Reaching outside the dressing rooms I bumped into Eli. "Shoot" I fell to the ground.

"Oh jeez sorry" Eli held his hand out which I took and helped myself up. "what are you doing here?" I asked "well I was changing too" he answered "oh right," I said feeling a little dumb.

We stood around for a good minute before Eli began to talk again "Oh, um here" he said pulling out a small box from his backpack.
I watched him with curiosity. Opening the box he presented a 'gold' necklace with a cobra charm. "I um—I wanted to give you something to um thank you for being my friend. As well as a I guess good luck "Eli explained.

I could feel my face wanting to turn red. "y-you know you didn't have to do that." I looked away. "I wanted to, here let me put it on you" he pulled it out.
