Ian POV:
We pulled up on our driveway. I opened the front door for Ameria. We stepped in the house and I went straight to my room and closed my door.
What day I had, could my birthday get any worse. I opened my closet and got out my record player and the disk out of my desk drawer. The disk had tape on it labelled "Dad" on the front.
I sighed and closed my eyes for a few seconds. I opened the player and slid the disk inside. There was a click, and right then, the disk started playing.
As the disk started to play, I could hear my parents voices.
"Will, your never gonna get that thing working" I heard my mom say from the recording.
"I think I've got it" I heard my dad reply
"I'm gonna watch from over here for when it blows up"
"Hello? Hello?"
"I'll bet good money you can't get it to work"
"Oh, is that right?"
"Yep"
"But you're doing a good job of making it look like you know what you're doing"
"Well, I'm trying to"
"Did you check if it had batteries?" My mom giggled
"Uhhh no" my dad replied
"Of course you didn't"
"I know"
"So, is it really working?"
"Let's find out"
" Okay. Bye."
The recording finished and the disk popped out. I placed it back in and took a deep breath.
"Will, you're not going to get that thing working"
"I think I've got it"
"I'm gonna watch from over here, for when it blows up"
"Hi, Dad" I say slowly
"Hello? Hello?"
"It's me, Ian"
"Oh, is that right?"
"Yeah. Did you have a good day?"
"Well, I'm trying to"
"Yeah. Me, too."
"Although, I could clearly use some help"
"I sure do wish I could spend the day with you sometime"
"I know"
"Well, there are so many things we could do"
"It'll bet it'd be really fun"
"Let's find out"
"Yeah. I mean, I'd love to. We could, uh..."
"Okay. Bye"
" Yeah. Bye."

Ameria POV:
I started walking up the stairs to see if Ian was ok, but when he opened his door and came out I was already about half way up the stairs. I stopped walking up.
