Adora would be lying if she said she hadn't been completely heart broken by Lonnie over the summer. Their breakup was rough. They had been unofficially dating since late freshman year of high school and things had gotten pretty serious from time to time.

So when Lonnie broke up with her right before summer break, Adora was confused. She never had gotten a reason why. All she knew was that within a week, Lonnie had a new girlfriend.

Adora's summer was spent in her room, binge watching cartoons and eating ice cream while crying. Her best friends, Glimmer and Bow, were there to support her. Along with her mother. But Adora really just needed to cry it out.

So she did. And by the end of summer, she was completely over Lonnie!

Kind of!

A little bit.

Yeah who was she kidding? Adora was a mess. She definitely was not playing on letting Lonnie know that.

In hindsight, their relationship was pretty toxic. Being each others' first girlfriends did that. But toxic and all, Adora had really like Lonnie. And seeing Lonnie move on so quick just made Adora think she was being used. And the more she thought about it, the more Adora realized she liked the idea of a girlfriend more than her actual girlfriend.

So right now, Adora had been sitting on the bleachers, staring at the track runners when she saw Lonnie approach her. She grimaced a little before forcing a smile.

"Hi, Adora." Lonnie said to her, Lonnie's voice sounded cocky. Like she had come over here just to rub it all in Adora's face.

"Hi." Adora returned, not really giving much emotion.

"So, how was your summer?" asked Lonnie. Adora was confused. 'Why was Lonnie trying to make conversation as if she didn't break up with me?'

"It was fine, I guess." Adora replied, not looking into Lonnie's eyes.

"Well, mine was great!" Lonnie exclaimed. "My girlfriend is just amazing!"

She might as well just say she was here to make fun of Adora.

Adora found herself scoffing, making Lonnie giggle a little. "What? are you still single?"

"No." Adora blurted out. 'Why did I do that?!'

Lonnie's eyes widen with amusement. "You don't say," she commented. "Who is the lucky lady?"

At a moment of panic, Adora scanned the field, looking for someone she could say. "Uh.. Catra. Yeah! Catra!"

Of course she had choose one of the popular girls!

"Oh please." She heard Lonnie laughing. "I had to lower my standards to be with you, no way the Catra D'riluth would go out with you."

Adora was completely fucked already, why not keep going?

"Well, it's true. Summer flings are special."

"Prove it." Lonnie demanded, making the blonde's eyes widen. "W-what?"

"Since you guys are together, go over there and kiss her."

After some debate, Adora found herself inching toward the brunette. Catra had never shown much interest in Adora, so how was this going to work?

Catra was smiling after taking her fifth win of the day on the track team. Her wavy long brown hair in a ponytail with her curtain bangs falling down, her bi colored eyes dilated, her tail swaying happily, she was perfect.

Okay. Adora would be lying if she said she didn't have a small crush on Catra in middle school when the brunette moved to Bright Moon. Their first encounter was completely horrific. It wasn't like Catra knew she existed now. Though Adora never had the guts to introduce herself fully so she couldn't blame Catra.

Adora knew Catra was friends with Bow, she seemed kind of nice.

Shakily, she walked toward Catra. Stiffening when she got there. This could work! She knew Catra didn't have any romantic feelings toward men. At least she wasn't about to go kiss a straight girl.

"Hi." Adora choked out, getting Catra's attention. "Hey! You're in my science class. Sixth seat on the left." Catra said, a little amusement in her voice. Adora didn't realize Catra knew that. Though she had almost all her classes with Catra. Whatever, it was a start. Catra looked at her again, squinting. "Um.. Addison, right?"

Close enough.

"Adora, actually." she corrected, earning an apology from Catra, which she accepted kindly.

"Well, nice to meet you Adora." Catra started to grab her stuff. She was leaving! Adora had to do something soon or she'd look like a fool in front of Lonnie, who would tell the whole school.

She grabbed Catra's wrist, pulling her forward. Catra's eyes were wide and her face was red.

Adora didn't think about it, she just kissed Catra.
