Prompt: You are stuck in the desert with your crush. What will you do? Escape with them or eat them for dinner?

I scoffed as I stepped out of my jeep, Nick following me. He groaned in frustration as I kicked the jeep. I walked to the front of the jeep, propping the hood up and peering inside. We were out of fuel in the middle of the damn desert. I sighed and let loose a string of colorful words.I didn't mind that I was stuck in the damn desert. What got me was that Nick, my crush was here with me. Yeah, you got that right. "Nicholas John Robinson", the popular bad boy of the school, was here with me. In case you didn't know, I'm Ashlyn Grady, a part-time paleo-veterinarian and the raptor trainer at Jurassic World. Yes, that is a real thing.

"What now?" My partner asked. I shoved my hands in my pockets.

"What do you want me to do? Eat you? 'Cause I sure am hungry." I snapped but regretted it instantly as I saw Nick smirking. Oh boy, why did I have to say that. To make stuff worse, I had practically trapped myself by leaning on the car. Beads of sweat trickled down my face, I didn't know what from the desert heat or Nick'd proximity. He kept on advancing with no intentions of stopping.

I bit my lip and gulped visibly as he stood right in front of me, his hands on either side effectively trapping me. "Hungry for me, eh Grady?" He said eyeing me. I swear his eyes flickered to my lips.I managed to stutter, "In your dreams, Robinson." But my voice failed me. He chuckled as my phone started ringing. He stepped away and I answered my phone while walking away from the jeep. I tried calming my heart which was running like a free raptor.

I was on the phone with Claire Dearing who just so happened to be my boss at Jurassic World. She agreed to send us a chopper but it would take at least thirty minutes for it to reach. So I was stuck with Nick for thirty minutes. The gods definitely hated me. I thanked Claire and hung up the call when I felt a pair of arms snake around my waist. I turned to come face to face with Nick.

"What?" I asked him, looking away as I tried to hide my blushing face. He lifted my chin and without a warning smashed his lips into mine. My eyes widened before I relaxed in the kiss, letting my fingers tug on his soft brown locks.

The kiss was slow, gentle but emotional. We broke apart for much needed oxygen and he leaned his forehead against mine.

"I've been wanting to do that for a long time, and I have to ask," He paused as I caught my breath, "Will you be mine?"I jumped into his embrace and quickly pecked his lips. "Yes! I'll be yours. As long as you promise to be mine." We shared a laugh as we heard the whirring of the helicopter. We were getting out! Maybe the desert wasn't so bad after all.
