1. Hatred

Lily's POV

I remember clear as day the moment I began hating Jason. I had known him a long time and I can even remember being friends at one point, but then he changed forever and treated me like crap. He'd go out of his way to make my life a living hell all the way through Elementary. And to this day, I have no clue what happened. Having no friends on top of being picked on by a group of guys physically and verbally wasn't exactly the greatest combination out there. Times were tough, my Mum was going through the separation with my Dad, so I never thought to tell her about the bullying. Although it eventually came out when Jason got his friends to spy on me in the changing rooms, how disgusting. But that was years ago, at least now I have friends and get a long with basically everyone in my year, I wouldn't say I was popular because that would just make me cringe... but I do have a lot of friends. Especially my close group of friends, they support and love me and I seriously wouldn't trade them for the world. Although, recently I feel like we've been drifting a way a little bit...But that might just be because we are now all in relationships.

'Lily!', Madison snaps - interrupting my thoughts.

'Hmm?! Oh, sorry I was just thinking', I awkwardly smile.

'Okay, well this is prom Lily, and i'm freaking out because i've still got so much to sort out and i've not even picked up my dress yet!', Maddy slams her face into the palms of her hands.

'Woah, chill out Maddy...No one said being in charge of the Prom's decorations would be an easy job', Hannah states whilst blowing her nail polish dry.

'I agree with Hannah, I suggest you relax and stop stressing. If you want I'll go pick up your dress with Lily', Sarah states.

'Oh yeah, I am going to pick up my dress tonight anyway', I smile.

'Ah, you guys are the best! Actually i better head, i'm going to head off back to school for measurements', Maddy grabs all of her journals and multiple folders and stuffs them into her bright blue bag.

'See you later', we all say in unison as Madison leaves.

As Maddy's silhouette shortens i then around and direct my conversation to the rest of the girls.

'I am stressing so much right now, I'm not even sure if Daniel wants to colour co-ordinate', I sigh dramatically looking at my phone.

'Hmm, he's been a bit sketchy recently', Hannah says.

'Hannah!', Sarah nudges.

'No, It's fine. I know he's been acting totally off and seriously cold with me recently. And the whole prom thing has just seemed like a big grudge to him...I dont know, I think he might like someone else?', my heart sinks.

'Oh for goodness Lily! Nearly all of the guys in our school are chasing after you, don't let Daniel Reid get to you', Hannah comforts.

'Yeah, you know what, forget him. We can just blow off this whole prom thing and just stay at my apartment a few hours from here, it'd be a break! But...Wait, we can't let Maddy down, she'd kill us', Sarah offers making Hannah smile.

'Ugh, true and plus Ben has been so sweet about this whole Prom event, he is way more excited than I am to be honest, which I'm not complaining about, pretty sure he just wants to beat Daniel at being Prom King', Hannah smirks.

'Hey, you guys aren't giving up your prom because my boyfriends being weird', I giggle.

'Plus, Maddy would definitely strangle us with our balls if we dont show up', we all laugh.

'Eh? Speak yourself Lily, Pretty sure I don't have balls...', Sarah smirks.

--Night of Prom--

I look into the full sized mirror in front of me, my ivory coloured dress with pearl encrusted neckline and bodice, it is so pretty. And i actually feel confident and pretty for the first time in a long while. I still haven't heard from Daniel, I really dont know what his problem is. Recently, he's been oh-so quiet and spending less time with me. Im not even sure he cares about 'us' any more.

Sighing, I take a step back and grab my clutch bag from my bed, my mac lipstick and phone inside.

'Oh my g-', My mum covers her mouth.

'You look so stunning and grown up!', her eyes all glossy.

'Ahh thanks mum', i scratch my right elbow awkwardly. I barely talk to my mum nowadays, she's a workaholic and when she gets home she's uber stressed out and then seems to take it out on me.

'Well, I hope you have a wonderful time tonight', She smiles brightly.

'I will!', I smile back.

'Oh and Daniel is waiting outside in a very SNAZZY ride', my mum winks. I cringe at her word choice.

'Surprise baby', Daniel is sitting on the hood of a sleek black limo, suited in his lavish suit and tie. I must say he looks very attractive tonight. His dark brown hair and hazelnut eyes are more prominent than ever, his toned muscles you can still see through his white shirt and the smell of expensive cologne reeks from him.

'I didn't think you'd turn up', I smile.

'Why would you think that', he half snorts half laughs.

'Well, you have been ignoring me...', I defend.

'Ugh, L, Can we not do this here?', he sounds agitated. My eyes flutter to the ground in slight embarrassment, I hate when he gets annoyed.

'Fine. Lets go then', I roll my eyes.

When i sit down in the car, i feel half happy that he's here and half annoyed at myself for letting him shut me down like that, you don't treat somebody you're supposed to care about like that and not give them an explanation.

Hi everyone, so I am getting a LOT of requests for this story and I think that I will definitely need to look over and make amendments as I was only 14 when I started writing this and I think that I have matured a lot more in my writing and I cringe so much when I read over what I have written, I wont be changing the story all together just going over it and making some slight improvements!
