Backstory: Alys grew up in Aberon. At the age of 16 she was instructed to go to Mount Arngor to be tested as a Dragon Rider. She was chosen by a green egg/dragonling named Ugauc. Ugauc was killed six years later by the remaining members of the Helgrind worshippers while on their way to the Stone of Broken Eggs. When Alys returned to Mount Arngor while her dragon recovered in Ellesmera, the Eldunarí told her about a suffering dragon, who she set out to find (Shruikan). After gaining his trust and training at the academy, Alys was called back to Ellesmera to witness the passing of her dragon who the elves refused to kill out of respect. Ugauc disgorged his eldunarí just before dying.
