Alameen's POV..

I was working on my system when my phone started ringing. I checked to see my cousin's name(Habib) popped on the screen.

" Hello brother". I answered.

" Thank God you still remember I'm your brother". He said making me laughed.

" Of course. Why not. Did I do something wrong?". I asked already knowing what it is.

" Nope. You did absolutely nothing. Like who cares if you don't visit your brother after marriage. So, it's totally fine". He said.

" Hey. I'm sorry. I really am but you have to understand I have so much on my plate and I have to take care of it so that everything fall in place but I promise I will pay you a visit. I came to kaduna five days ago. Dad asked me to take care of some things in his company. So,make it this week". I said.

" Make it tomorrow then". He said more like whispered.

" Tomorrow? God! I have a meeting scheduled for tomorrow but it is in the morning. So, I'll try and be done by 12. Send me the address". I said to him.

" No. Not going to happen. I don't trust you. I will pick you up at your house. Just tell me what time and I'll be at your service Sir".

" For real? Means I'm getting a free ride. Okay then, make it 2 in the afternoon. And you don't trust me huh? Alright cousin, I'll see you tomorrow. My regards to your bride".

" Okay. Bye". He said and hang up.

I continued with my work and then it's like a sharp knife was been struck to my heart as I felt a terrible pain. This has been happening to me for days. When I called my doctor, he said I have so much going in my mind. When you think a lot, it happens. He had said. And I know the problem but the biggest problem is I can't solve it. I shutdown my system and rest my head on the chair. I closed my eyes and suddenly she's all I see. The only person troubling me. I can't even get things done properly because of her. She is pushing me away. I can feel it but what I still couldn't figure out is why? Whatever the case may be, I am not giving up on her, not now, not ever.

*****NEXT DAY ******

Our meeting ended by 11 in the morning and I cleared my remaining schedules for the day and headed back to the house. I took a shower and decided to rest before 2 but my sleep was cut off halfway. Like 30 minutes or so. The door bell repeatedly ringing woke me up. I checked the time and it is 1.26pm. I headed to the door and opened it and behold, there stood my wonderful cousin. I mean, it is not even 2.O. Clock yet.

" Why did you have to cut me off from my beautiful sleep". I said.

" Well, you are welcome. Thank God I offered to pick you up. I could've heard story that touches the heart. Go get dress". He said walking in.

" Guy. It's only 30 minutes after one now. I haven't pray. I will pray and then get dress. And why would the story touches your heart?". I said laughing and walked away to my room.

30 minutes after, I joined him in the living room.
" I'm ready. Shall we?". I said standing in front of him.

We chatted all through the way to his house.

On arrival, the gate man opened the gate and he drove in and parked his car. He turned off the engine then turned his head my way.

" What? Why are you looking at me?". I asked.

" Maybe it's because I want to help a brother. Heads up brother. She's in there". He said and it took me some minutes to understand what he meant by that. My heart started hurting by the mention of her. I know she can't stand being in the same room with me.

" You planned this? Wow! Without even telling me? Seriously!".

" As I said, I'm only helping a brother. You can thank me later. Come on". He stepped out and wait for me to step out. I did and he locked his car.
He started walking and I tailed behind with so much on my mind.

" Just go ahead. The living room is right ahead. Wait for me there. I will soon be with you. I have to get something from my car". He said and I only nodded and continued walking like a zombie. When I get to the living room, I saw her sitting on the couch. I carried my legs to where she's seated and sat down beside her. She seemed to be so engrossed in her phone and didn't notice me sitting there. After some minutes Habib came walking in and went to the other side of the couch.

" Hey Iman's best". He said to her.

" Hey Iman's soul mate. Sorry for always being here because of your wife". She said.
She have been coming here and I've been missing on the great opportunity of being with her.

" I'm so tired of hearing you say that. You two are best friends. Anyway, meet my cousin brother. He'll be with us today". He said and all these while, my eyes stayed focused on her. She hesitated for some seconds before turning her head my way and she looked clearly surprised to see me sitting by her side.

" Hello. My name is Alameen. And what about you?". I said with a smile. Like this is the first time I am meeting her. She looked at me for a second.

" Oh I am just me with my name tagged to me". She said with a smirk. Did she just smirked? " excuse me". She added getting on her feet and left.

" I'm sorry man but you promised not to give up. I hope that's not what you are thinking of doing right now". He said.

" Actually, I saw that coming and you think I came this far only to quit? No, definitely not going to happen.Chill". I said trying hard to mask the pain I'm feeling right now.

" Great. I'll go get my wife then". He said and disappeared.

I sat there all alone thinking of nothing but her. I closed my eyes and opened up to everything and it's all her.

After what felt like hours, I heard the sound of footsteps coming towards my way. I got on my feet thinking it was Habib's wife but seeing the person walking towards my way made me halted. She seemed disturbed. Maybe it's because of me. And she was so carried away with whatever was on her mind that she didn't noticed me and bumped into me and it was like my feet was glued to the ground because I couldn't move either. She raised her head up to look at me and her expression was something I couldn't say.
