"That's precisely what we are going to do. We have more guards watching the Academy than ever before thanks to our new supporters."

"Don't they understand that if we slaughter one another, nobody will be left to fight the Vexons?!"

"Our people are fickle creatures, stuck in their ways. They refuse to listen to others, let alone a child. More people are flocking to our side each day. They were never going to fight alongside of us. At least this way, we'll know who's on our side," Edward said nonchalantly.

"More will die because of me," I said, my heart churning at the thought of a war starting because of me.

"This is not your fault. Everything is going according to prophecy. This is necessary to bring about a needed change," Oreres assured me.

"Do the others know?"

"Zion knows. By now he's likely told the others."

"What about the rest of the Academy."

"When the time comes, they'll be informed. We have time to prepare ourselves in the meantime. The Delegation isn't the type to attack on impulse. They will make a plan and act strategically," Edward said, pacing the room.

"I have to go," I said, darting away quickly until I came to Zion's wing before making my way to his room.

I knocked once, the door swinging open immediately. I was surprised to find Tom, Jeremy and Bonnie inside.

"You're out already," Jeremy said, raising an eyebrow.

"Don't sound so surprised," I said, falling into Zion's outstretched arms and hugging him before plopping down on the couch near them.

"So I'm guessing you told them?" I asked Zion.

"That those old hags want us dead? Yeah he did," Bonnie said, shaking her head in disgust.

"I'm sorry guys this is all my fault. I should've just stayed in that cell-"

"Stop. Don't do that. The plan was always to escape. They were always going to kill us," Tom said.

"Yeah, the guards told us they were going to keep us for three days then kill us all," Jeremy said, clenching his fists in anger.

"The Delegation has always been corrupt, killing whoever goes against them or challenges their ideals. You saw those prisons, full of children and innocents. This was coming long before we came along," Zion added.

"That means we have to kill," I said, looking at Zion, the only person the the room who understood the pain that came with taking a life. I couldn't imagine slaughtering people in a war. I still felt a sore from killing the guard who attacked Star, knowing he was a threat.

"I know," Zion said, gazing with me with pained eyes that told me he dreaded it as much as I did.

"We'll get through this. We always do," Jeremy said.

Nodding I turned to Bonnie, "how'd you like your first trip with us?"

"Well, we almost died and started a war. Are your trips usually like this?"

"Yes," Tom and Jeremy said in unison, which had us all laughing. We'd brushed with death so many times at this point it had become normal.

"We should go back. It's late and we have class tomorrow."

"Well most of us do," Bonnie corrected Jer before smirking at me.

"I'm going back to class tomorrow too."

"What? Really? Are you sure that's a good idea?" Zion asked, concerned.

"I barely know anything outside of fighting and I need to learn as much as I can if we're going to win this war."

"Alright!" Jeremy cheered.

"Let's go," Tom said, standing up and walking towards the door.

"I'll see you tomorrow?" I said, turning to Zion.

"Night," Zion said, planting a kiss on my forehead before closing his door.

"Come on Bon," Jeremy said, dramatically bending over to offer his hand to Bonnie. She giggled before taking it as he outstretched his wings and flew up. She flew up with him, hand in hand. Me and Tom joined, trailing behind them in the air.

"So what happened after me and Zion left?" I asked, turning to face Tom as we flew slowly.

"They said they'd take us to a room to wait for you then tricked us and shoved us in a cell. They took away Edward and left us there."

"Do you know why they took Edward?"

"No idea."

"Thanks...for saving us. Zion told us how you made a portal and you could've left but chose to stay for us."

"I'd never leave you guys."

"Can I ask you a question?"

"Why didn't you just kill them? The guards, I mean. I saw the way you were fighting, like it was almost a game to you. You were barely looking at them but knew where they all were and where they were going to attack. I'm sure you could've easily killed them all if you wanted to."

"If I use my powers to kill them I'm exactly what everyone expects me to be. A monster."

"You're not a monster, Saron."

"Don't be so sure," I said, laughing dryly.

"Come on, get down!" Jeremy yelled from below. I looked down to find Jer and Bonnie waving at us from below. I hadn't even noticed them land. I dropped down, pulling in my wings before I hit the ground. Tom landed beside me and we headed in.

"Come on Bon," I said, throwing an arm over her shoulder as we separated from the boys.

"Can I stay with you? Everyone looks at me weird now and I hate it."

"Of course. Sorry about that. That's the bad side of being my friend."

"I'm glad I met you guys and I'm a part of your group now. Fuck everyone. They're just jealous."

I laughed, opening the door to my private room as we walked in. I grabbed fresh clothes before hopping into the bathroom and peeling off the ripped, bloodied clothes I had on and taking a long shower. By the time I was out, Bonnie was fast asleep and snoring. I hopped into the bed, ready to sleep off the exhaustion and anxiety of the day.
